I'm new to this board as a poster, although I've been a regular visitor over the past 6-12 months.
I've played in all grades in the HFL and think I know a bit about the league and where it's heading.

Given that I've decided to start posting (albeit irregularly), I'd like to make two points:

First, make no mistake, Hahndorf will be the big mover this year. They are well coached and have recruited wisely. I think you'll find there are more names to come. I'm tipping a GF appearance.

Second, the vitriol surrounding the Bridgewater Raiders has me intrigued. Ex players (B&F winner) slagging the club and ex teammates probably reflects worse on the individual himself than the Club.
I've heard that Bridgewater are undergoing a tranformation as a club. New President, Secretary, Treasurer, Football Director and Senior Coaches. I wish them well.

Very valid point. Newman may i ask what your actual grievance was with the club or any people in particular? Feel free to PM me if you don't want to post it. Obviously being new to the club i would appreciate some inside running.

Sorry was that meant for me??? If so sorry but i'm not a coach or member of a coaching panel. Geez some would say i'm barely even a player for that matter! :)

Long time listener, first time caller. Lozza sounds like marshy gave you the "don't call me, I'll call you!" and you still hold a grudge. Played with the old boy a while back. He would have to be one of the best players in HFL. Missed about 5 games and still won the B&F. Probably would have figured in Mail contention if Bridgewater won a few games.
Watch your back Country Vic, have heard one of the bad eggs has moved down the road to a HFL country team, need a set of eyes in the back of your head. Could be you getting slagged this time next year after you win the B&F, and get treated like a leppar at the Presentation night.

So you're putting Marshall in the same catergory as Cooper, Bawden, Nunan, Contin, Cutting, Ebert ( i reckon i could name a few more). Must have been a long while back.

Thanks for the advice but i should be right i'm not a "recruit" just there to have a kick and help out a mate so should be fine. No expectations on me i'm just a plodder so can't see anybody bothering to slag me off unless iget in the way on the field.

If i won the B&F i'd be treated like more then a leper because i would have rigged it!!!

Ha ha, like I said, average on baller in div 2. Not bad, average. Might have gone alright in the Hills. Would want to play a bit better to justify his mouth.

Marshall one of the best players in the HFL!!! What a joke! Wouldn't be in the best 100 players in the HFL. Rate other guys at Bridgy such as Beverlander, Smith, Walsh & Turner way ahead of him. As for Mail Medal contention; well now you are just having a pull of yourself.

Oh you have got to be kidding me?....your credibility just took a dive in my book if you are saying anyone at Bridgy would be up to Marshalls standard playing wise, the ONLY exception being Beaver.

Think you are allowing your dislikes for him to bias your opinion of him as a footballer. Fact is locals put votes in for the B&F, it's even harder to win it as a import, yet he still did.

This is why everything on these sites should be taken with a grain of salt, because people allow bias', rumour and innuendo to effect their opinion of someones footballing ability.
Harsh but fair.....

You'll fit in well at Bridgy's CountryVic there all plodders, Marshall was only toying with them out there & won the Best & Fairest by a country mile on 1 leg mind you & missing 5 games. Tedbullpit couldn't poll a vote that goes to show teddy's ability leaves alot to be desired aswell as his knowledge of the game!

Did Marshall have beer flavoured nipples at Seaton? You blokes love him! Wonder why no-one else does? Maybe he acted like a tool at Bridgey?

Can I just say out of the past 4-6 years more than half of the best and fairest winners have been a shock to most players at the club and Marsh was no exception. The system for voting in the count needs to be changed because over the past years at has been so biast.

You and your mates on here certainly have a problem with Bridgy. How about you just keep it to yourself and now Marshall has moved on you and your bandwagon of Cheerleaders can follow him to Seaton.

The blokes at Bridgy have been fine to me so far and you can't go labelling evryone as tools. I have no doubt like every team, workplace, school etc in Australia there will be a couple of blokes that aren't all that likeable but thats life.

Reading this the common denominator has been your pal Marshall.

Next topic??

No mercy, of the games I saw Marshall play this season he did stuff all. I don't have any dislike for the bloke infact I dont even know the bloke, I was purely making a comment on what I saw this year. There is no way on what I saw this season that the bloke is as good as 'Who' was making him out to be. He may have been good in the past but from what I saw this year he was pretty ordinary. And don't make comments about me cos you don't know who I am so how the f*ck would you know about my ability you tool.

Any news of Lofty picking up anyone yet? Not as if they need too but i don't think points or money would be a big issue for them. Are they just remaining tight lipped? Haven't heard of any recruits either on this forum or around town.

Lofty haven't started pre-season yet so the players on here might not even know whats going on in regards to recruits.
