Agreed Marty, especially about how the WACA Tests finish late..... get home from a hard day, have some good dinner and sit back with a couple of cold ones(solo) and watch the cricket...... thats life.

What the hell are our batsmen thinking today? Why play a shot like that just before stumps?

Geez then Tony Greig thinks Johnson is bowled, but the umpire gives it out LBW.

Last ball of the day.

9/341.

Well summed up Spelly...... we struggled early on in the day but our middle order stood strong.

If we struggled early, they will too...... this could go either way, all depends on the South African innings.

Clarke, Symonds, Johnson all got out to playing stupid shots......

DO THEY NOT REALISE THEY HAVE UNLIMITED BATTING TIME! they don't need to score a ton in one session.

I have no problem with Symonds attempting the shot he got out on.
Harris is not a big turner of the ball and it was outside leg.
He would have been disappointed with the execution/result of the shot however 9 times out of 10 it would have been catching practice in row q.
Brad Haddin's shot was very disappointing.
For every one I miss I am closer to a hole in one.

Agreed on Symonds shot. That is the way he plays, and if he changes that he probably doesn't make it to that amount of runs in the first place. For some other guys there is nothing wrong with hitting the ball along the ground. Amazingly, Harris has taken over 50 test wickets at about 30, including some pretty high class batsman. It would seem that everyone's eyes light up when they face him, and they get themselves out.

Loved the comment by Jim Maxwell on ABC radio that if you had to pick the outstanding thing about his bowling you would struggle, apart from the whites being nice and clean.
Don't be scared. Now is not the time!

9/341 after being 3/15 is probably reasonable. And In my opinion the Aussies would be slightly ahead because well the runs are on the board.
Still if Krezja can hit a few today and siddle hangs around a bit we might be able to push the total to say 350 - 360. Which would give our bowlers something to bowl at. And with the new ball there will be chances early. I still have my doubts about McKenzies new found technique that he has gone on about. Him and Amla I believe the aussies should target hard with the new ball. I feel they might be vaunerable to some good seam bowling.

I agree with Dogmatic and Not Scared regarding the Symonds shot. It was there to be hit and his game is all about playing his shots. He didn't execute the shot well but that's the way it goes. More often than not that goes sailing over the fence.

The worst shot of the day for mine was Michael Clarke's. I am an unashamed fan of Pup and believe he will become one of our best ever players but in order to do so he needs to stop having brain snaps like he did yesterday. There was no need to be playing that shot and particularly after just losing a wicket. Just very dumb cricket from Clarke and very dissapointing to watch.

Clarkes was the worst by miles for me. The timing of the wicket and the way he got out showed to me he has a long way to go before he leads this country on the cricket field.

I'm being serious, I have questioned Greig's eye-sight for quite some time. He makes statements like "the ball clearly missing leg stump", etc, and I'm sitting there thinking "huh"? There are time when clearly he either cannot see what happened, or he just isn't watching.

Krejza 24*
Siddle 11

Do we have the best tail in world cricket? These two both play like batsmen.
