Sunday 14 Dec something to do

Postby Mickyj » Sun Dec 14, 2008 5:55 pm

While my eldest watched WWE Vintage and the wife was out .I decided it was time while the rain had stopped but the wind was blowing strong .To start tying some more Rubber Band Flies .I have had success with Green so I tied 1 green 1 yellow and 1 pink.I am not 100% convinced its the Green colour that attracts the fish but could have something to do with the diamond like eyes.I did take some pictures but my old 2mg camera's battery died .
I did manage to get this picture and everyone should be pleased I didn't swear once.It doesn't show the eyes very well .Image

oooooh...bright :D

I still think they're looking more and more like trolls ;)

Hope you get some good fishing weather and the chance to try them out soon. Look forward to hearing how they go.

Wow...great photo's Micky...you'll have to give that one an appropriate name as it's in Doggies colours ;) If I were you I wouldn't let it get in and start breeding with those rubber bands either ;))

All that's needed now is some good fishing weather...look forward to hearing how well these new ones do.

Micky I will be interested to see if the rainbow idea works as all the others you see, and you have made so far, follow the one colour theme. You never know you may have hit the jackpot. I am going to be stuck working through till the end of January so will not get a chance to get to the water. However I will be going over to Pt Vincent for a few days when school goes back and hope to get some fly flicking in over there at high tide and crabbing at low tide. :D

I am stuck at work as well .Only off Public holidays and sick days like today (cough cough). My normal RDO was cancelled as I had no RDO hours .

But i made a pink body one today(different colours underneath with white on top) like the above one .I tied a green one last night not really happy with it but meh you never know.
Green works well on Bream and Salmon (but salmon will take anything when hungry)
The test will be the more colourful Jas 's Bulldog Fly pretty sure from past snap offs Mulloway will love it ;) .As will any passing squid .

Fingers crossed not bad work tied the "bulldog fly" in about five minutes and then three coats of red nail polish and clear nail polish . Gee that sounds wrong

Cheers
