What did you do as a kid that they cant do now?

Anything!

What did you do as a kid that they cant do now?

Postby The Ash Man » Mon Dec 15, 2008 7:49 pm

Was thinking tonight about how I used to stash cigarettes in a cassette case in high school
What do they do nowadays?
CD cases wouldnt work!

What else can you think of?

- rollerskate around the grand prix circuit after school
- doorknock on business doors in the city east and ask for stickers
- try and sell lemonade on the corner of Carrington and Hutt Street outside the state bank

Ride a bike without a helmet
Ride in back seat of grandparent's car that had no seat belts
Run around school yard with no hat or sun screen
Have to leave the field when dismissed in primary school cricket :((
Buy a can of coke and a pasty from the school canteen
Walk around an open dump and search for stuff in all the rubbish (can't believe that in hindsight)
Grow a mullet
In between signatures .....

-turn the TV/nintendo/atari (nowadays much more variety) off and go outside
-use my imagination
-get smacked by my parents
-go to bed when Fat cat did
-leave home without my mobile and not feel naked

i'm sure there's more that i could think of but haven't got all day...

i wonder how things'll change when my kids have kids and they have kids..... crazy how far things have come in the last 2-3 generations...

Was actually the "Naked Review" wasn't it?

We used to live at the Nightrain/Warehouse, those days get blurryier by the day, but used to love seeing High Voltage and Just Strait down there.

You are right, it was Naked Review the majority of the time. I reckon it changed to Raunchy Girls for a little while though. They used to call blokes up and let them 'retrieve' a sticker from them  ;)

It used to be my second home aswell. Zep Boys and Circus Animals played there too, as did a friend's brother's band, So Watt.

It was a dodgy looking place, but had great times there.
