Good work Hahndorf on the signings - this gives them a good top end list of quality footballers - can only help the young fella's coming through with that experience around them. As much as I do not condone black & white success this should definately put them in the hunt. My belief they should of done a hell of a lot better last year but injuries to their quality players hurt them badly, which was a shame. :(( :((
Any more news on the Ironbank FC - any more signings at the Thunder Dome to mention. Go you Armytanks!!!!!
Sounds like it could be a good battle for finals spots in 2009.

Because Mad Harry has not played any league games and he does not like anyone who has notches on their belt - jealous people I don't know - till you have anything to back up crappy slander, probably better to leave it alone - I have learnt my lessons from numerous suspensions from this site. Good luck to Handorf - Do you even play Mad Harry or played - or are you a professional sh*t slinger from the sidelines who's opinions are never wrong and not to be opposed - you do not get league games by being a dill pal as you we would be a Hall of Famer I'm predicting. %-(

Ballhog i am still wondering why Hahndorf would want to sign Matthew Bartemucci didn't really do any thing special in the SANFL I think i could have played footy at Norwood. What do you think??

I'd suggest there would be a number of clubs in a number of leagues that would want to recruit a former SANFL league player with 140 odd league games under his belt and still only 27 or 28 years of age. Of the understanding he has a few mates at Hahndorf which is probably the reason he went there. Sounds like Hahndorf building a handy line-up. Anything further on Mt Lofty, Blackwood or Mt Barker?

Just because you play league football doesn't mean you are all that flash there has been some poor players play league football. Norwood are consistantly down the bottom of the ladder so as a whole they are not to a very good team. Bridgewater had Kluzak a couple of years ago and he played AFL and SANFL and he wasn't to flash and he has been more successful than this Bartamuchi. Mad Harry is a gun footballer so I think we should respect his opinion on this issue.

I think you would have found Kluzak if put into Hahndorfs team next year would be a very effective player but he was trying to do everything in a very ordinary team, Bartamucci is going into a team which already has some high quality players and I think you will find he will be very effective in Hills footy having said that it always takes time to settle into a different standard.
I dont know if there are any Poor Players playing league footy I think you need to have some ability.
Time will tell but If you were playing for Handorf next year you would be fairly happy about were there headed.

That's some very solid signings for Hanhndorf. Looking very good for next season. Have you guys done a calc for the total points a full strength A grade side would carry?

how many pts does a club attract if it gets players from another hills club?
Someone told me 3pts. If this is true then why would Hahndorf get Josh Russell if hes gonna be worth 3pts when you could get a player with SANFL reserves experience for the same amount.

plus 2 points ( everyone is worth 1 point) same league incurs 1 plus 2, Sanfl reserves are 1 plus 3 I think?

at the end of the day boys whether bartermucci is a good pick up or not is yet to be seen, but he has some sort of form on the board with 100 odd games under his belt. and with roberts and a few others heading to hahndorf, it shows hahndorf are the business this year

Don't disagree entirely Ballhog. True some get through and play 1-10 odd games with questionable pedigree, but bit tough on guys that have had 5+ seasons at league level to say they can't play. No one lasts that long at league level without having a certain amount of ability. Agree stepping back down a peg or two can be difficult. Have to go and get the ball yourself etc and don't have the support. In a good line up however a bloke with plently of SANFL experience would fit in quite nicely you would think.

Greetings Ballhog.. whilst I may have been quiet on the forum (it is the festive season afterall), I notice that you have been actively posting at your very best!

Actually I did attend a function on Saturday night in cabbage territory where all was revealed!

Probably the most interesting fact arising from the night was that meadows football club are calling for investors in a new project. A gumtree plantation is planned for a part of the meadows oval complex in order to feed the expected arrival of a big eating koala in 2009.

It was suggested that the koala inhaled the thursday night meal at the footy club where he previously played where it was often garnished with some hot Newman's horseradish.!!

having played some footy with & against Bartemucci i would suggest he is more than a handy pick up for Hahndorf. always seemed to be bit of a ball magnet, & while defence not a obvious strength, extremely dangerous in the forward half of the ground & will take some matching up in the hills comp. havent seen him play in 2 ft of mud before so only time will tell if hills footy suits his game, but experience is invailuable to any team.

Will need to be a bloody big plantation because this Koala eats a shitload. As for the Newman he can get ****** and his hot horseradish. Come on anymore facts surely a man such as yourself would be full of new and interesting gossip.

I hope the meadows trainers have a reinforced stretcher and a remarkable cure for cramp, so the captain can feel assured that when his lactic acid takes over and his leg begins to cramp someone will be there to carry him off. I also hope the training staff have the defib machine at the ready so when the captain starts to have palpatations at the thought of going in a getting a hard ball get they will be able to revive him on the spot.

It would be nice if instead of having to read through pages and pages of this forum if we could get someone form each club to write about ins and outs?

Now Now Captain dont get yourself worked up I'm not sure that heart of your can take it. To your first post the term I think you were looking for was loser not looser, I believe looser is a term that could be referred to your defensive skills as a backman and I reckon the reason you didnt see any hard ball gets is because you were either being carried off or in the medical room with career threatening injuries such as koala bites or gout. No one was more embarrassed in winning the B&f than me Captain it really highlighted the some of the pathetic hacks I was playing with including you Captain. This will be the last post directed at you Captain cause I fear the strain is becoming too much for your brittle heart unless something ridiculous comes from your mouth which is highly likely. I wish you good luck watch out for those Koalas I hear they are pretty vicious up in the meadows area and remember cramp is a build up of lactic acid it has nothing to do with your bones.
