WHAT IS THE HOGG SHIELD?

The Hogg Shield is a fantasy league competition that we run pretty much continously with events covering AFL, NRL, Super XIV, NFL, EPL, A League and now it's Test Cricket's turn. We have ONE Hogg Shield event for each summer and it's usually the main event so no Kiwis here folks.

SO HOW DO I JOIN?

If you want to try and win the Hogg please PM me with your email address and I'll send out an invite to you to join our league.

YEAH BUT WILL I WIN THE DARN THING?

So far this site has thrown up a couple of Hogg Shield winners. Simon Himonza (sorry Simon don't remember your SAFOOTY name won the Ashes Hogg two years ago and more recently Pup won the AFL competition by defeating some clueless bugger in that grand final. We will be using the Cricinfo site to run the league. Less than a week to go now boys so sign up and get those baggy green thinking caps ON.

It started out as an office fantasy league for me and my workmates at [%*()GUI)GHOIR^&R&] LOL. A bloke named Hammo named it after Brad Hogg. He used to carp on about what a gun he was but never selected him in any of his cricket teams so the comp was named after him. The Hogg Shield actually exists and it gets updated every time one our blokes wins it. Hammo is the reigning Hogg holder after he won the Rugby League World Cup comp. He was actually ranked number one in the world so in some events (normally Rugby League and Union) the Hogg is VERY competitive.
