2 words, the guys that came to Lofty and turned things around were/are top class players with SANFL experience. Bridgy have lost some of their better players, have confirmed the signing of one middle of the range player in Flynn and have talked about the possible signing of a couple of fringe Norwood reserves players. They might win more games than last season but they wont play finals. Having said that good luck to them. I would be happy to be proven wrong as it would be great for the competition but I don't think it will happen.

You don't know what the your talking about S Flinn is a gun came second or third in the mail medal in the River murray league in 07. He is a better player than all the recruits Bridgewater had this season just gone by far. I can't see Bridgy doing what Lofty did but they are taking steps in the right direction. Would be fantastic to see them cause a few upsets and shut some negative dickheads up on this forum.
Ballhog you are kidding yourself if you think they will play finals. I've seen Flinn play and he is not as good as you make him out to be. I dont think anyone is being negative just realistic.

I'm not sugesting they will play finals but you just get sick of everyone bagging them, what's the point of playing if you think you are going to finish last. Every saturday you start of even so you need to go in positive and give yourself a chance.

Bit harsh on the bridgy lads, IB finished bottom in '06 then played finals in '07!

Nothing is impossible you can't expect them to make finals next year, but as long as their is improvment why can't they push for finals in a couple of years.

Agree but the talk on here is that they've picked up one recruit and may pick up a couple of fringe reserves players and all of a sudden they are a finals chance. You need to learn to crawl before you walk. Look at Birdwood for example and the guys affiliated with them who are on this forum. They've actually picked up some qualitiy recruits and there is no talk of finals, just about improving, being more competitive and looking forward as a club. That's what Bridgewater should be looking to do and not setting the bar too high.

Did Flinn play a bit at CHF? If that was him he was handy and occasionaly turned it on, but was inconsistent. If not I can't remember him.

They will finish bottom 3 yet again.

You cant write off any side. At Lofty we went from loosing 29 games straight (practically 2 seasons), to playing finals the year after.

Gee Captain Koala there you go again opening your rather fat mouth to talk absolute garbage. If you think they are going to improve why are you jumping ship einstein??? Bridgewater will finish bottom by a long way.

You are a complete Newman good to see you are sticking around for another year aswell hey, it will be good for the club for you go and get back under that rock in which you came from. I wish all the best for Bridgewater next season and my heart will always be at Bridgy and at some stage I will finish my career back there. The club has made some massive changes since you have off and they are all very positive. Luke Gain will bring in some new ideas and will get the best out of the young kids comming through.

Spoke to a local from Mypo and good friend of Flinny. Flinn was offered $200 with the tigers (current) and the raiders offered him $450, so he took it as a chance to come back. Pretty sure about those figures too as the local is heavily involved with the tigers.

who really cares how much he's on? it doesn't take a genius to work out that he would be getting paid to come back. he played in a GF up there last year, why else would he come back to a team that finished 9th? obviously the club feel he is worth it & because he played his jnr footy at bridgy he will not attract any points. seems to be a win for flinn & a win for the club.

Why on earth would you feel the need to post what someone is "Supposedly" getting paid?? Are you trying to make a point?? If so what is it?

Also unless it's from the horses mouth you basically have no idea.

I'm not the 1st to post a $ value. Of course, Flinny isn't going to tell me directly what he's getting but if one of his parents were to mention it, is that close enough to the horses mouth for you?
Just for interest sake toot, Flinny told me directly after the GF that he wasn't planning to return for at least another 2 years. I'm all for him coming back but probably not the circumstances I expected.
Good to hear that Bridgy are turning the corner, so to speak with all the stuff being put on here. Know a few of the locals quite well and they are much more positive already. Should be interesting come round 1. Still want to beat them by plenty though!
