[quote="MrTeach"]Hey All, it has been a long time since i was on. It is great to see the club is going from strength to strength. I have been reading the last 3 or 4 pages and want to report on a couple of things.

HFTB, McLarens excessive numbers is not a bad thing at all, what it means is blokes will have to train and earn a spot and it makes blokes want to improve which is what Willunga do. I have heard from an extremely good source that McLaren will pick their best side in the B grade however if a spot comes down to an older bloke and a newly promoted junior and they are much the same, then the Junior will get the nod. Which is spot on in my opinion.

i didnt mean it as a bad thing if thats how it came across, i was more so referring to the problem being 10 to 20 blokes miss out on a game each week and theres not a hell of a lot you can do about it, i have been in the selection room it is not as easy as what everyone thinks. the more players the better, increases the competition for spots and demands a consistent performance in both grades

That's great news. Merridie was a week ahead of my partner so that makes it a bit more real.... good to hear all is good.

Hi MM O:)

I haven't been far away, just in 'neighbouring towns' so to speak :D

I think it's passed excitement now, I for one just want the next season to start already O:)
I'm sure time will fly fast enough once Christmas/New Year comes and goes.

Don't think we've started training yet MM, but not far away I'm sure.
Lots of the guys doing their own 'training/getting fit' from what I can tell.

O:)

TTB
It is McLaren my good man!

Maybe we will be the quiet achievers. Maybe we are sitting on our bums doing nothing
When the jigsaw gets a bit closer to being finished and the fair dinkum stuff starts it will be worthwhile contributing.
It is silly season right now and all I am seeing on most sites is a fair amount of dribble, rumours that are so far off and ridiculous amounts of money being talked about.
I am starting to think that a few posters truly believe that Father Christmas is real and that easter Bunny lays Eggs.

On the serious side. We have a get together tomorrow at around 6.30 pm where our pre season will be mapped out.
The next 2 Mondays there will be an opportunity to have a casual run with Russell and Dale, not compulsory but a kick and a catch and a jog.
looks as if we will retain most of last years group and a strong contingent of U/17 from last year.

I can guarantee you that as a club we will not be approaching anyone from Morphett Vale and I would suggest that Early will be the same at reynella.
