What a silly statement. Only pollies are allowed to express a political opinion now eh? Not a very good democracy.

Not saying they cant have an opinion just dont know what they have to put it in all there songs. I do try not to listen to them but i heard there songs back to back on the radio over the weekend. I did forget about U2 they are the worst in there concerts!

I didn't say you said they couldn't have an opinion. I said you said they shouldn't express it. Expressing poitical opinions is the basis of free speech.

I always laugh at the irony when I see some clown getting around town in a sparkling clean 4WD, just out of the brushless carwash and freshly chamoised.

I'm going to finish up driving my old Musso around Adelaide some of the time soon, simply because, despite its being 12 years old, it is still in good condition.
I bought it when I had a farm, and it would not be good economics to trade it in for very little to get something else just to look green enough to observers.

It is not a good bet to buy another car anyway now, until we know whether the future is with hybrids, pure electric cars, or hydrogen fuel.
Apart from the recent Top gear UK demonstration that a BMW M3 in the right situation could be less polluting than a Prius to run, we have the concern about the cost in cash and pollution of the battery systems for electric cars, diesels put out cancer causing agents in their exhausts, and we don't know whether the hydrogen car will take off. Any one of the choices could finish up an expensive orphan.

All good points Psyber, but hybrids, pure electric or hydrogen powered vehicles dominating the road space and market place is some way off. Even if you were to purchase a new car now and keep it as long as you have had your Musso I would doubt the vehicles on offer using alternate fuels will satisfy your wants or needs.

( Assuming you like larger or more powerful cars )

I actually prefer a more compact vehicle for general use. The Musso was primarily for my wife's use, and was also used for country trips on dirt rather than my sports model - e.g to the Flinders when we were in SA. It is a 1996 model, and as I said it was bought when we had a farm, and also had a 90Kg Irish Wolfhound to transport.
I do have a smaller car as well, but the Musso is handy if you are picking up items of furniture or anything else bulky.
I'd get very little for it on sale, so I keep it around for that sort of use.

It was also for the 90Kg dog - does that make it OK? ;)

Calling the Telstra help line, recorded message after recorded message, after about the 10th one I get "Thanks for calling Telstra...Unfortunately we have a blackout, could you call back in an hour".

Steam pouring out of ears, I've unleashed a "**** off you mob of ******* useless ****", only to hear "Sorry what was that, how rude"

 Someone actually said that and it wasn't a message...ha ha !

So recorded messages give me the shits....
