Haddin is really struggling behind the stumps. He's coming up to early and doesn't seem to be watching the ball the whole way. He is a lot better keeper than this.

I just made the same comment in the last few overs before lunch Rod. If I noticed then I am sure the coaches have noticed!

I would think he is getting surprised every time Hauritz spins it. I know I am. 8)

Could also be due to having some soreness after his big knock.

Just off topic about selections now. New policy introduced, after theny gor rid of shane watson was if your not performing then out you go.
So lets have a look at symonds now:

Brisbane:
Bat: 28, 20
Ball: 0/4 (1), 0/12 (4)

Adelaide:
Bat: 0, -
Ball: 1/17 (12), -

Now Watson goes back to the domestic comp and this is what happens so far:
Bat: 19, 83
Ball: 7/69, 0/19

I know I harping about this and in no way would I say Watson is good enough to even hold his spot, I just think Symonds wasnt selected for the right reasons. We know CA love him and the crowds seem to as well. But christ he needsd to be able to hold is spot.

The reason for Watson out/Symonds in was given as "horses for courses" rather than form. I'm not sure the theory holds too much water but that is the theory given/

Well horses for courses wont work either as you said because Symonds got his wicket in the first dig bowling seamers.

He hasn't performed too well with the bat (even though his scores in Brisbane were 3rd or 4th highest for the Aussies I think) and he got an unlucky decision yesterday. I think there is too much chopping and changing in the Aussie side as it is. The only change was forced due to an injury (Hauritz for Krejza). I think Roy deserves a spot against the Suth Afrikans because he's a proven performer and he's so dangerous when he's up and going.

"Horses for Courses" {bulltish, aus} defn: The justification to make totally illogical selection decisions during a transitional phase in a team's development.
