Happened to drive by Bridgewater oval yesterday and saw the lads having a pre season run, any new faces out or anyone signed up yet?

i thought it was a very intense session first up for what was meant to be a "light" training run, not looking forward to the hard sessions. S Flinn & M Lancaster were both out & i believe have signed.

its Michael Lancaster from Mt Barker who has left to go to bridgy....
probably the best thing to happen to mt barker, i dont think he would make the A's at a country club - and if i was a full forward in the league playing bridgy i would be rubbing my hands together for a big day in front of the sticks...

word is McDonald has not been seen out at Mt Barker for any of the training runs over the last few weeks.. is the move to onkas looking more on the cards???

A bit off topic here but I guess this is the only place it belongs...

Drove past Bridgewater Oval recently and saw a bloke out there mowing the oval with a HAND MOWER. Is this usual? I'm just a bit curious. It can't be much fun on a wet day (i.e. half the year).

Anyway, I hope the club are paying him a shitload - because he deserves it!!

I always thought he was pretty good at full back for Barker, why do you think he is so bad? Wasn't he looking at moving to Bridgewater last season or the one before? Interesting to see where he will play with the club having three full backs with Gain, Niewenhouzen and now Lancaster.

the oval is maintaned by the council so i'll assume they were the ones mowing it, not sure why he would be using a hand mower though. unless someone from the cricket club wasn't happy with the job the council had done.

Ballhog with those 3 spots down back taken & along with the Pig, looks like i'll have to become a full forward or midfielder to crack the 1's.

I wouldnt have thought as there are rumours his brother is going over to play Bs at meadows plus a couple of other brigdy players on the move over to meadows, no reason for him to go back.

Heard that their might be a couple of Onkas boys heading over to Hahndorf can anyone confirm this? I think A feijen is still undecided on what he is doing but both he and his brother would be capable of playing A's at Meadows.

can tell ya Lancaster is far from the worst FB you'll stand. played many good season for barker often playing on forwards taller & stronger than himself. didnt have a great 08 but if he gets fitter he'll go alright. wouldnt let him do the kick outs though
