With Feasty retiring and the high likelyhood Sturt wont have Fabian DeLuca next year, they are pretty low on big man stock so Jake would be a welcolme addition back down at Oxford Terrace for season 2009.
Didn't he play with Blackwood in the Hills league last season ?

ruck/forward - i didn't see him play due to coaching commitments but he often seemed to be in best players.
he's a definite signing

Re: 2009 Recruits to SANFL Clubs
I know South Adelaide fans have been wondering what's happening on their recruiting front as they have been one of the more quieter clubs so far in terms of rumours and signing of recruits...
I have heard that the Panthers have signed a young guy from VFL club Williamstwon.

Name: Nathan Lyons
Height: 179cm
Weight: 77kg
D.O.B: 09/02/1988
Previous Clubs:
Western Jets / West Footscray
A pacey Half Forward/Winger who is skillful and a great mark overhead for his size. Impressed with the Western Jets last season to earn a pre-season at Melbourne but after just missing out on a Rookie spot has trained hard and is likely to see Senior action for the Seagulls throughout the year. One to watch.

Peter Street received a good offer from North Adelaide, but he has knocked them back.

Re: 2009 Recruits to SANFL Clubs
Seems strange to me that the guy who hurt us most last year...us as in Norwood .....was Simon Feast. Now he is retired.
I suppose he had his reasons but form surely was not one of them.
Good around the ground ruckman IMHO.

Dont reckon Feasty hurt us as much as he had in previous years when he absolutely destroyed us

Re: 2009 Recruits to SANFL Clubs
Eagle fans lets not forget that we will most likely have 2 picks from the local AFL clubs recruits.....
first 1 could be either of the clubs second picks ( I hope its Casey Sibosado...he looks sensational...much like Buddy Franklin)
or Mitch Brown possibly.....
either way another 2 new recruits for us.......
of cause it all depends on the clubs lower than us and their choices......
not sure what Ron would take re Forward, Mid, Ruck or Back......
Jacky should improve also as long he is over his knee injury........

Thanks Sojourner,
Like I said, I thought South fans might be glad to hear some recruting news. Other than players re-signing from last season and the Chief coming back to Noarlunga, there hasn't been much news from down South.
Cheers,
Phil

With Matt Rendall saying the crows are looking local for a tall i wonder who they will draft. And the Mock draft has the PAP'S drafting Redden might be a nice way to cut down the Cap .if the 2 afl clubs take an Eagle or two.
But we could do with a back and a ruck.

A good get for souths. I have seen this kid play a few times and he certainly has the potential to be a very good state league player. Some pace added and should work well with Redigolo and Boyd.
Good to see them focusing on young recruits with real potential.
