The ACB cut that short didn't they when they realised everyone was going for Australia A! I can't recall the other 2 countries maybe one of them was sri lanka but i remember it was the 2 aussie teams in the finals!

Aaaah. Flashbacks! Gilly used to play in the Australia A side as well.

If you are talking the 1994/95 World Series Cup: Aus v Aus A v Eng v Zim ....

Then the Australia A wicket-keeper that series was Phil Emery. In fact he was vice captain.

Aust A players that series were:

Ricky Ponting
Michael Bevan
Jo Angel
M Atkinson (who ???)
Greg Blewett
Phil Emery
Shane George
Matthew Hayden
Merv Hughes
Justin Langer
Darren Lehmann
Damien Martyn
Peter McIntyre
Tom Moody
Paul Reiffel
Gavin Robertson
Greg Rowell

Quite a side! No wonder they came second. It was a rich era of talent in Australian cricket.

Crazily, Reiffel, Emery, Bevan, Robertson played for the Australian 1st 11 as well.
In between signatures .....

Mark Atkinson played for Tasmania from 1991/92 to 1999/2000 and still holds the record for most career dismissals with 290, also had a handy batting average of 31.80

It was a golden era/renaissance ;) of SA cricket - one Mercantile Cup final and two Sheffield Shield finals with that now legendary 1995/96 win.
