Scun_thorpe now lead Coca-Cola League One by two points after Matt Sparrow's last-minute goal gave the Iron a 2-1 win over Cheltenham at Whaddon Road. Nigel Adkins' side took the lead when Gary Hooper raced on to strike partner Paul Hayes' through-ball to slot home past Scott Brown in the Cheltenham goal after 34 minutes. Cheltenham hit back through a Paul Connor header on 68 minutes after an inswinging corner from Alan Wright. The game looked to be heading for a stalemate until Sparrow hammered home from 12 yards in the 90th minute.

Neil Harris hit a second-half double to give Millwall a 3-1 win over Leeds and lift them above their opponents in the league. Luciano Becchio had put the visitors ahead after half an hour but the hosts hit back after the break to claim all three points. David Martin lobbed David Lucas to equalise on 38 minutes. Harris then headed home on the hour mark before scoring his second with two minutes left.

Comeback of the day came at the Bescot Stadium, where Hartlepool hit back from two down to beat Walsall 3-2. Michael Ricketts and Jabo Ibehre had the home side comfortably ahead inside 13 minutes but Antony Sweeney, substitute Matty Robson and James Brown turned it around in the last 18 minutes.

Craig Mackail-Smith scored four minutes into injury-time to steal a point for Peterborough in their six-goal thriller at Carlisle. Danny Graham gave Carlisle an early lead before Charlie Lee headed home after 33 minutes. Graham and Graham Kavanagh put Carlisle 3-1 up before Mackail-Smith rifled home a 60th-minute penalty before grabbing the last-minute equaliser.

Danny Whitaker's superb 25-yard strike gave Oldham a 1-1 draw against Leicester. Steven Howard's header had given the Foxes the lead after 53 minutes but Whitaker's strike on 68 minutes denied Leicester their fifth straight away win.

Luke Chadwick's 80th-minute goal gave meant MK Dons left Gresty Road with a point after their 2-2 draw with Crewe.

Clive Platt struck with three minutes to spare to give Colchester a 2-1 away win at Stockport.

Huddersfield drew 1-1 at home to Bristol Rovers, bottom side Hereford played out a goalless draw at Brighton and fellow strugglers Leyton Orient lost 2-1 at home to Tranmere.

Northampton easily brushed aside the challenge of Yeovil, winning 3-0 at the Sixfields Stadium.

Round up
Scott McGleish's penalty six minutes into injury time gave Coca-Cola League Two leaders Wycombe a 1-1 draw in their bizarre match against Darlington. Steve Foster brought down Matt Harrold with 96 minutes on the clock and McGleish duly stroked the ball home from 12 yards to give the early pace-setters a point. Jason Kennedy had given Darlington the lead after 57 minutes when he volleyed home from a Neil Austin cross. The match then turned ugly as Darlington's Tim Ryan and Wycombe's Chris Zebroski both saw red in a bizarre turn of events. With 15 minutes left Ryan head-butted Zebroski only for the Wycombe man to get up and lash out at his team-mate Harrold by accident. Ryan and Zebroski were dismissed for their actions before McGleish stepped up to convert his penalty to grab a point for the hosts.

Rotherham tasted defeat for the first time at the Don Valley Stadium as they went down 4-3 to 10-man Barnet. Dale Tonge lifted the ball into the box on seven minutes for Nick Fenton to open the scoring by heading past Lee Harrison in the Barnet goal. Luke Medley then hit back after 17 minutes for the visitors, who had Max Porter sent off after he brought down Alex Rhodes in the box on the half-hour. Mark Hudson missed the resulting penalty for Rotherham and they were made to pay soon after by Albert Adomah and Cliff Akurang. Adomah gave Barnet the lead on 35 minutes before Akurang bagged a second-half double to give the away side a three-goal lead.
Ian Sharps headed home a Tonge free-kick in the 70th minute and Mark Burchill then gave the Millers fans hope late on but Barnet held on to leave the Don Valley with all three points.

Bury cut Wycombe's lead to one point after their 3-1 win at Dagenham. Stephen Dawson opened the scoring before Mike Jones' long-range effort and Elliott Bennett's goal killed off Dagenham, who scored a late consolation through Sam Saunders.

Shrewsbury also kept up the pressure on Wycombe with a thumping 4-1 home win over Bournemouth. Ben Davies bagged a brace while Gylfi Sigurdsson and Richard Walker were also on target.

Luton remain stuck on minus 18 points for another week after suffering a 2-1 home defeat at the hands of Accrington Stanley.

Fellow strugglers Grimsby picked up a point at Exeter with a 0-0 draw.

Simon Yeo's 65th-minute strike gave Macclesfield a draw at Meadow Lane against Notts County while Morecambe also drew, 1-1 at home against Rochdale.

Simeon Jackson scored twice to give Gillingham a 2-2 draw at Bradford while Lincoln ran out 3-1 winners at home against Chesterfield.

Both sides converted a penalty apiece at the Recreation Ground where Aldershot drew 1-1 with Brentford.

Leeds made it two home wins in a week following a 3-0 win over Walsall. Fabian Delph was again the star performer for Gary McAllister's side with a second-half brace.

Leicester City remain in fourth after being held to a goalless home draw with Northampton while goals from Sean Morrison and Jack Smith (penalty) saw Swindon beat slumping Oldham 2-0.

Rickie Lambert stole the show at the Memorial Ground as he bagged all four of Bristol Rovers' goals in a 4-2 win over Southend. Rovers led 4-0 before the Shrimpers scored late consolations from Peter Clarke and Francis Laurent.

Peterborough have jumped into sixth in the table with a resounding 4-0 success over Huddersfield. Aaron Mclean netted a brace for Posh while the Terriers' misery was compounded by Chris Lucketti's late dismissal.

Milton Keynes Dons overcame the first half dismissal of Willy Gueret and a missed penalty by Peter Leven to run out 3-1 winners over Cheltenham. Ali Gerba bagged a brace for the Dons while the Robins made it 10-a-side late on following Lloyd Owusu's sending off.

Colchester secured their first home win at the Community Stadium at the seventh attempt with a 5-0 mauling of slumping Carlisle. Mark Yeates helped himself to a brace as the Cumbrians make the long trip up North with their tails firmly between their legs.

Hartlepool secured their third consecutive League One success and first clean sheet of the season thanks to Kevin Kyle's goal against Brighton.

Stockport County left it very late before Tommy Rowe gave the Hatters a 1-0 success over Hereford at Edgar Street. The Bulls remain second bottom in the table.

The battle between two of League One's strugglers Yeovil Town and Leyton Orient goalless at Huish Park.

Round Up

Wycombe maintained their unbeaten record and top spot in League Two after beating Accrington, while Brentford were held by Shrewsbury.
Wycombe looked like being held to a goalless draw at the Fraser Eagle Stadium, but in the final minute the Chairboys broke Accrington hearts as Chris Zebroski fired home to seal the win and take Peter Taylor's side three points clear at the top.

With Wycombe drawing, Brentford had looked on course for top spot as Charlie MacDonald put them ahead at Griffin Park after 73 minutes.
But then Shrewsbury levelled through Chris Humphrey and Wycombe sealed their late win, to make sure Brentford remain in second. Shrewsbury remain in fifth.

Exeter are thoroughly enjoying life back in League Two as they climbed into third with a 1-0 victory at Barnet. Midfielder Matt Gill grabbed the only goal of the game just 18 minutes from the end.

Darlington continued their excellent run of form with an excellent 3-0 win over Dagenham & Redbridge, which lifts them into sixth and above the east London side.
Liam Hatch grabbed a double either side of the break, which sandwiched an effort from midfield ace Jason Kennedy.

Bury - who began the day in fourth - dropped to seventh after they suffered their second successive home loss as bottom of the table Luton grabbed a 2-1 win at Gigg Lane.
On-loan striker Tom Craddock fired his third goal in two games to put Town ahead and Ian Roper made it 2-0 before the break.
Andy Bishop's penalty gave Bury some hope, but The Hatters held on to seal victory. Courtesy of their 30-point deduction, Luton remain 20 points off safety.

Likewise, Rotherham will be wondering what if, had it not been for their 17 point deduction.
The Millers claimed a 2-1 win at Macclesfield and would actually be top of the table without their penalty.
Dale Tonge gave Rotherham the lead early on before Ian Sharps' last minute goal sealed the win. Francis Green added a last-gasp consolation, before both Sharps and Town's James Jennings were dismissed.

Bournemouth, the other team deducted points at the start of the year, remain on minus four points after they lost 1-0 at home to Lincoln.
Lenell John-Lewis grabbed the only goal of the game at Dean Court, which means The Cherries are 10 points off third from bottom Grimsby and safety.

Gillingham are up to eighth after a 2-0 win over Chester at Priestfield Stadium.
Two goals in two minutes from Andy Barcham and Leigh Mills, late on, won it for Mark Stimson's side.

Rochdale remain 10th, but are just three points off fourth placed Bradford after beating Aldershot 3-1 at Spotland.
Adam Rundle opened the scoring in the first-half, but the Shots levelled through Marvin Morgan. Two goals in the last ten minutes from Joe Thompson and Will Buckley won it for Dale.

Chesterfield are into the top-half of League Two after a 3-1 home win over Notts County.
Jamie Ward and Alan Goodall fired home to set the Spireites on their way, before Delroy Facey pulled one back for County. The win was sealed in the final minute when Paul Harsley scored.

Finally, Port Vale climbed to 13th after a 2-1 win over Morecambe at Vale Park.
Luke Rodgers opened the scoring with just 10 minutes left but Jim Bentley levelled soon after for The Shrimpers. The winner then came in the last minute as Marc Richards fired home.

Round Up

Nigel Adkins' Scun.thorpe travelled to Boundary Park as league leaders but a brilliant hat-trick by young striker Lewis Alessandra saw a rampant Oldham claim a deserved 3-0 win.

Leeds could have gone level on points with **** with a win at Southend, but Whites old boy Dan Harding had other ideas as he scored the game's only goal.

Leicester must have thought they were heading for three points when Matt Fryatt fired home a first half brace at Brighton, but a double from Bradley Johnson (60 & 84) had Albion level, before Jack Hobbs put through his own goal a minute from time.

Lewis Grabban will be the toast of the Millwall faithful as his goal four minutes from time earned the Lions a 1-0 win over Hereford, in a game that saw both sides reduced to ten men.

Tom Pope rescued bottom of the table Crewe a late point at home to in-form Peterborough, cancelling out Aaron McLean's early opener.

Carlisle continue to struggle for any kind of form as James Brown's first half goal saw Hartlepool claim an impressive away day win.

MK Dons' on-loan winger Luke Chadwick was a man on form as his brace secured a 2-1 at Leyton Orient.

Stockport and Tranmere could not be separated in a 0-0 stalemate, and it was the same scoreline that ensued as Huddersfield entertained Yeovil.

Northampton's hosting of Colchester was lost to inclement weather conditions, with Walsall's game with Swindon also postponed.

1st week of the year where snow has got the better. It looks like a long, long winter ahead.

Round UP

Wycombe fans were left disappointed on Tuesday as the league leaders were snowed off the pitch after just 23 minutes against Macclesfield, with no goals scored. The match between Luton and Bournemouth also came a cropper to the snowy conditions.

No problems elsewhere though, with plenty of goals in particular at the New Meadow where Shrewsbury and Barnet battled out a 2-2 draw. The Bees had taken a surprising two-goal lead early on through John O'Flynn but conceded two in as many minutes to settle for a point on their travels.

Brentford found themselves trailing early-doors on the road to an out-of-form Chester who had lost their last three league games before Tuesday's comprehensive 3-0 win. Ryan Lowe and Kevin Roberts found their way onto the score sheet for the Blues.

In-form Exeter also came a cropper to Lee Richardson's Chesterfield. The Spireites made it three wins in three games with an emphatic 6-1 victory over The Grecians, ending their run of five wins in six games.

Barry Conlon netted a late winner for Bradford who made hard-work of their 1-0 win over Bury at Valley Parade. Fellow high-flyers Darlington made it seven games without defeat as Ricky Ravenhill helped secure a 1-0 win on the road to Rotherham.

Plenty of goals to report at Sincil Bank as Lincoln made it four wins in a row and continued their nine-match unbeaten run with a 2-0 win over in-form Gillingham. Lee Frecklington gave The Imps the lead after just 12 minutes of play, with Dany N'Guesson adding a second just two minutes later to end the Gills' four-match unbeaten run.

Mark Orber, Ben Strevens (two) and Paul Benson all scored for Dagenham & Redbridge as they ended their three-match losing run with a convincing 4-0 win over lowly Grimsby, who are yet to win a league game. Aldershot picked up their first win in seven games against in form Port Vale. Defender Louie Soares dashed Vale's run of three wins in four games.

Rochdale took all three points at Notts County when Jamie Forrester's converted penalty was cancelled out just after the hour mark with a fine shot from Dale striker Lee Thorpe, who doubled his tally just minutes later. Morecambe managed a point at home despite defender Henry McStay's own goal early on against Accrington Stanley. Craig Stanley managed to find the right net to earn a point for Morecambe, who have now not won in 10 games.

Is Scun.thorpe the only town in the world where you type it's name and it gets "swear" filtered ?

Wish there was a town called Myfu.cktopia so Scun.thorpe wouldn't feel so bad.....

F%#!in Foxes - 2 zip up should have been 3 up when the most blatant penalty was waived away but still should not have lost! 2 "lucky" flukes to the Seagulls got them back in it.

Results like these could really hurt come promotion and play off time!

Round Up

Simon Cox hit a hat-trick as Swindon held League One leaders **** to a 3-3 draw on Saturday while Leeds won 1-0 at Cheltenham.
Cox completed his treble with an 80th-minute penalty after Krystian Pearce had put the hosts on course for victory at Glanford Park.
Cox opened the scoring and then equalised after Grant McCann and Martyn Woolford put the Iron ahead.

Luciano Becchio scored the only goal as Leeds beat Cheltenham to move within a point of **** in second.
Becchio was on target with just six minutes gone at Whaddon Road, heading in a Frazer Richardson cross to lift Gary McAllister's side above Millwall on goal difference.

The Lions were thrashed 4-1 at Brighton as Glenn Murray hit a brace and also had time to miss a penalty.
Murray, an early replacement for the injured Adam Virgo, opened the scoring just before half-time.
Tresor Kandol equalised but Murray restored the lead - moments after seeing a spot-kick saved - and Bradley Johnson and Dean Cox wrapped up the scoring.

Kevin Gallen struck an 81st-minute winner as MK Dons moved up to fourth with a 1-0 win over Tranmere at stadium:mk.

Southend needed a late Jean Francois Christophe goal to claim a 3-3 draw with Colchester at Roots Hall in a game they appeared to be well in control of.
The Shrimpers had taken a 2-0 lead inside 13 minutes through Peter Clarke and Francis Laurent but Johnnie Jackson and Mark Yeates levelled the scores.
Anthony Wordsworth put Colchester ahead with nine minutes remaining but Christophe saved Southend.

Two goals from Carl Baker and one from Stephen Gleeson gave Stockport a 3-0 win over Carlisle while Aaron Brown and Paul Warne efforts ensured Yeovil won 2-0 at Oldham.

Peterborough beat Hereford by the same scoreline after a double from Craig Mackail-Smith, who also had a penalty saved, while struggling Leyton Orient saw off Hartlepool 1-0 with a late Adam Boyd winner.

Keigan Parker hit an 88th-minute winner as Huddersfield beat Crewe 3-2 after initially seeing a 2-0 lead wiped out by a Clayton Donaldson double.
Andy Butler and Ian Craney had put the Terriers ahead at the Galpharm Stadium but it needed Parker's late intervention to secure the points. There was still time for Parker to be sent off, in injury time, for a second yellow card.

Matt Fryatt scored twice in the last three minutes as Leicester staged a late fightback to beat Bristol Rovers 2-1 at the Walkers Stadium. Jo Kuffour had put Rovers ahead after 61 minutes.

Chris Palmer, Anthony Gerrard and Troy Deeney were on target as Walsall beat Northampton 3-1, Leon Constantine replying.

Wycombe had been one point clear at the start of the day and they remain unbeaten after playing out a goalless draw with Rotherham.

However, Darlington are now leading the title race on goal difference after Billy Clarke and Ricky Ravenhill netted in their 2-1 victory over Grimsby, who remain without a win this season.

Bradford are back in third after playing out a thrilling 3-3 draw with Barnet. Five of the goals arrived in an incredible first half at Valley Parade, with Barry Conlon scoring twice for the Bantams.

Exeter moved up to fourth with a 2-0 win over Chester courtesy of goals from Adam Stansfield and Matt Taylor.

Shrewsbury piled more pressure on bottom club Luton as Paul Murray, Ben Davies and Grant Holt all netted in their 3-0 success.

Rochdale saw off fellow high-flyers Brentford 2-1 at Griffin Park to rise two places to sixth and leave the Bees in ninth.

Dagenham & Redbridge remain just outside the play-off places following a 0-0 draw against Accrington.

Bournemouth inched closer to safety as they snatched a 1-1 draw in their home clash with Chesterfield thanks to Alan Goodall's own goal eight minutes from time.

Morecambe pulled away from the bottom five as Stuart Drummond and Ryan McGivern struck in their 2-0 victory over Aldershot.

Ryan Cresswell was the match-winner for Bury as they overcame Notts County 1-0 at Meadow Lane.

Port Vale also picked up a 1-0 victory on their travels as David Howland grabbed the only goal of their contest against Lincoln.

Gillingham boosted their promotion hopes with a 1-0 win against Macclesfield, Adam Miller breaking the deadlock.

Foxes go top after beating Yeovil.

Report and table to follow.

Attendance tonigth was 16,500. not a bad gathering for a 3rd tier side on a cold, wet and windy Tuesday night against a shite team from about 300kms away and no fans.

Thanks JTC - got a text from a mate at the game. Whilst we are not in great form we are at least winning and can't complain about being top again!

Yep sure did. Poor old Pat, not having much luck with injuries and this second set back is not going to inspire too many at LCFC as many believe he was too slow prior to his 1st knee injury!

I'm still getting over the "shock" of a 1-0 home win against another footballing powerhouse in Yeovil Town!

God I hope we get out of this Div by season's end (he says as he kneels and prays!)

The Quakers remain ahead of Wycombe only on goal difference, though, as The Chairboys also had a home success over Bradford.
Dave Penney's men did it the hard way at the Darlington Arena after captain Steve Foster was dismissed early on.
But despite being down to 10 men, Darlington claimed all three points as Liam Hatch fired home just after the break and Richie Foran pounced in injury time.

Wycombe maintained their unbeaten record with a 1-0 victory over Bradford, who would have gone above Wanderers with a win themselves.
But it was Wycombe who claimed the victory thanks to Lewis Hunt's goal just 20 minutes from time.

Exeter, Rochdale and Bury all missed the chance to climb into the top three after failing to win.

The Grecians came up shot at Aldershot as they lost 1-0 with John Grant firing home the winner early in the second-half.
Dan Hylton was sent-off late on for the Shots, but they managed to hang on for all three points.
Rochdale had looked like grabbing the win which would have taken them into the automatic promotion spots as Adam Rundle put them ahead against Macclesfield on the hour.
But Nat Brown levelled matters with just minutes to seal a share of the spoils for the visitors.

Bury suffered a shock home loss as Grimsby Town claimed their first win of the season.

Sol Davis put Luton ahead, before Magnus Okuonghae levelled. The winner came just before half-time when Paul McVeigh fired home.
The Hatters are now on just -11 after they claimed the win at Kenilworth Road.

Bournemouth missed the chance to wipe out their deficit as they lost 3-0 at Accrington Stanley.
Stanley started brilliantly at The Crown Ground as they scored all their goals in the opening 20 minutes as Paul Mullen, Terry Gornell and Royston Griffiths all registered.

Mark Wright's first game back in charge ofChester ended in defeat at the Deva Stadium as Morecambe claimed a 2-1 victory.
Craig Stanley and Rene Howe set The Shrimpers on their way before Eddie Johnson gave Chester some hope with his goal - but the home side could not find an equaliser.
Both sides ended the match with 10 men as Danny Adams and Kevin Ellison were sent off in the same incident.

Finally, the performance of the day was witnessed at Underhill as Notts County debutant Jonathan Forte fired a first-half hat-trick in their 4-0 victory over Barnet.
