If it is true and scraggs is going out to Ovingham then that would be a massive pickup. an absolute ball magnet very hard to stop when he hits form

Gepps Cross played a lot of b grade footy. I think he may have been at athelstone before that but not sure. He didnt play much footy this year due to injury but if the trainor can keep him on the park he should have a good year.

probably doesnt really matter about recruiting at this stage because nobody knows who is in this division yet, the SAAFL still have to decide how to deal with Edwardstown leaving and how that affects promotion and relegation through divisions 2-7 plus all the usual talk at this time of year in regard to one team clubs applying for two teams, bit of a wait and see...

Agree at this time of year nothing is set in concrete. Just some good talking points but until the division is set that is all it is good talking points.

As far as I know, the Edwardstown deal is done. The SAAFL have contacted the clubs affected regarding nomination for each division.

Also, it is my understanding that Henley have actually requested not go up to Division 6.

you got it! Klompy was lucky to get games this year i reckon... 98 goals is a poor effort for him! we carried him the whole way. he did say he has retired but my guess is he'll get a bit itchy on the sidelines and strap the boots on again after about 3 games and yeah, it'll be in the magoos!

numbers wise i reckon we'll be more than fine. a few blokes have come out of the woodwork and there is talk of a lot comin over.

Word is if they can just get the odd game out of the old fellow and qualify him for finals then if needed he would be a handy inclusion if the bs make it.NUGGETY also heard Riggs is going again and bringing his cousin who played A grade country, and Lance's next door neibour is coming out and he played div 1 res this year sounds like 2 handy pick ups.If Cooke puts in a big preseason and commits to training then id say he could captain the As next year? Also heard Chris is going to play in the Bs next year great skills but lungs will last 5 mins

Cooke's a lazy sucker, we never see him at training let alone preseason, i'd rather someone who's gonna be there and deserves it! i'd say Klomp will have a kick here and there, maybe not every week. i also heard anthony and chris have a few of there mates comin out too, maybe not be A graders, but certainly help with the numbers issue! i also heard an interesting rumour about some GX boys who are a little interested as to why Woody and Scraggs and a few extras are exiting to Ovingham and they may be following them across too... will have to wait and see how that pans out though... i also heard of a few boys doing some recruiting over facebook! great idea if you ask me!!!
I am not talking to you for 3 minutes because you punched me in the head and it hurt and that was not okay for you to do

Caught up with Klompy last week and he reckons he's pretty happily retired at the moment.Said if he does play he's gonna go and have a kick with a good mate who's coming back from Sydney.Maybe Ovies might offer him some money to sit at full forward in Div 7,but I could'nt see him giving up work to play in a B grade side that will probably be short every week.

Hey Wattle,I heard Cookie is a gun player, but he misses every second game because of church.I admire his faith in God but that would hardly make him captain material.

exactly right! he missed two finals this year due to them being played on sundays... a skipper can't be doin that!
he's just got different priorities and footy's not top of the list i guess...

i'd say Spence would be a great skipper!

on the numbers issue... we'll have to wait and see how it pans out early next year but i can't see us bein too short at all... my only worry is gettin blokes across to fill the B's may mean our depth isn't as good as you'd like, but still a long way to go yet!

Raiders had their first pre-pre-season training on Wednesday. About 25 blokes on the track, a couple of new faces, all seemed to enjoy being back out on the park and booting a footy around.
