Hunter, i would always be keen to play association cricket but at the same time i think club comes before association.. I would enjoy myself more playin for my club then the association side. but at the same time if there are no club/association clashes i wouldn knock it back n i would give everything to play in it. I think the association should have the association game dates as 'no-goers' for the 20/20 games so it allows skinny to pick the best 11 possible without ppl pulling out to play 20/20 cricket.

I agree with you CK, 20/20's not be scheduled on Assoc. games so that skinny can pick his best side. The 20/20's are a highlight on all our calenders. Light hearted and good fun. Mind you skinnys beer tickets are a massive season highlight

and especially since skinny forked sundays out of his own pocket due to the association not givin him money before sunday! now he has to try and get money back from them haha but yse simple solution to get the best XI to play, is to have no 20/20's scheduled on the same day as the association games.

That's the season i was talking about. I knew you left for a year or so, didn realise u went to the stingrays so thats hardly walkabouts but for this topic we will classify it as 'walkabouts'. And i doubt that stanley would head back, and smith at the same time. altho stanley did just win the ultimate, so maybe he has achieved wat he wanted to achieve and knew he wouldn at the bulldogs in this era.

We've always said that stanz is more than welcomeback, anytime, with our young side if he slotted in i reckon we'd give it a bit of a shake next year, mccrea, johns, middlin, hocking, pritchard, mccann, all under 22, and performing not too bad.

Smith, well, he sorta left on bitter terms, i don't know if our arms would be quite so open for him, they might have been if he didn't do what he did as he made the treck up raglan avenue.

I tell a lie, i actually went walk about over to sydney for a season of footy, and played cricket over there too, so thats the walkabout your thinking about in 03-04.

and stanley would be a great asset, especially to plymptons line up with their bowling attack. I think having stanley and pritchard followed by moore would be a lot better bowling attack then havin moore opening at the moment. IMO if your mob was to give it a shake next year, you prob need to bat less then 15 times a year, and pritchard needs to make 550-600 runs with mccrae following him just on 500 runs. ALtho overall a great start to the year for the bulldogs!

Yeah 500 each from those two will definately put us on the right track. We'll still pass scores 9 down though, thats what we do! Wouldn't be plympton without a colapse somewhere.

The ethos at plympton is changing my friend, don't you worry. Last game i looked around at the team, and i was the third oldest on the field at the ripe old age of 26 (feels like 36 tho) although habsy was late so make it 4th oldest! We're on the right track.

Yes your heading in the right direction, but you still need to have young fellas that will not only progress over the years, but hopefully for ur sake stay at the club. and will pritchard stay at plympton for much longer?? it is known he signed a clearance this year and went back on it, but how many times will he go back to plympton?? he and mccrae are the two important ones, plus middlin, his batting is average but his mediums are underrated in my opinion. he has a agood bag of tricks!

I'm not going to go into too much about pritch and mccrae but i hope from what they have seen this season that they have changed thier mind on the club, i didn't blame them for being a bit jaded at the end of last season to be honest. But a change in off field leadership, a change in direction hopefully and a decent captain this season to guide them hopefully shows them the potential.

Middlin is a true space cadet, but we all love him! has the ability as a batsman, not that i'm one to talk about batting, but loses his head sometimes. I like his bowling, love his half volleys in the nets!

Well his batting would be improved he literally didn jump off the pitch heading to legside. He bowled a good chance of pace, outties and cutters, just short of half volleys. found him hard to get away. he is a space cadet, bit different but a nice bloke. Well from my view, im hoping mccrae and pritchard change there minds and leave at the end of this year and i no pritch was not impressed with the first game against WYC, out of all the clubs the one he wanted to play for. Does one outright and his 90 against north haven change his mind? guess only he knows..is it a case of Pritchard leaves and mccrae to follow suit or??

I think Pritch is smart enough to know you don't take too much out of the first game, hopefully anyway! He's a good bloke and shows a lot of leadership. Just unfortunate that we came up against WY first game. He's fiery, he'll deal with it i'm sure! he'll just have to take wickets against you guys in the finals won't he!

McCrae was tossing up looking at turf, and if he wants to do that then we have no issue at all, good on him for doing it. young fella should have a go at it at some stage. But he's gunno be coming back to us after he's done!

As i said, we're a club on the move, but just how far we're going to move who knows, its in the lads hands thats for sure. Hopefully we move far enough so i can go back to section 2 at least!!

Well not only do you have to make the finals but so do we. and we are no certanties. Altho atm there is no certanties probably besides ICC with there form and proven match winners over the years. Coro ramblers shuld make it! and hopefully pritch makes the move next year wen he decides he wants to play finals and not just 11 games a year interesting year ahead for section 1 and also section 2. section 2 has 2nd through to 7th tied on 13 points. will be interesting to see how that pans out

yeah to be honest that draw could cost us, fukn council! I see they moved morphies game last round and i got a phone call from mitchell park who want to use our 3rds ground coz they are doing the same thing to thier oval this week.

we'll be playing a few extra games this year don't worry... we won our last A Grade flag from 4th, and had to win outright in the last match to get 4th spot!

Section 2 is great, its about time that they put all the b grade sides up, when i was captain a few years ago i reckon we played against 5 or 6 A Grade sides, all playing 'sheep-station cricket' that shits me off!

And JB i would hope our side walks wen we have a teammate umpiring, that is inclusive of our lower grades that umpire every themselves every week, but when u have a paid umpired i personally dont walk because he is paid to do a job. Whereas one bloke in our side walks no matter wat, and it annoys the hell out of me lol but good on him for it. just hoping we dont have to umpire our game!

well it will shit me if it costs us a premiership...you will be unable to walk again because of some excrutiating pain that would be inflicted on the tree trunks..
and umpires this year have been disgraceful in our games. JB can confirm round 2 was laughable. THis game we beat south road outright and the umpiring was very inconsistent. Round 1 v plympton tony fromene umpired well n consistent.. I think most people will agree that you can handle bad umpiring, just as long as its consistent throughout the game??

We have also had some inconsistency this year which is the most frustrating part.

It is the usual umpires that frustrate me, so I don't think it's been anything different this season. First game our umpire was generally ok but counted a ball that hit the middle of the two mattings and ran along the pitch 'grubber style' till it hit me in the foot when I was batting. Said it was a dead ball but it still counted (very annoying late in a one-day innings). Got my own back when I bowled the same delivery and he counted it. He is a stickler for the rules but still gets them wrong. Second game I was impressed, new umpire to the comp and did a good job. Last game is probably the bloke I get most frustrated with. Is generally ok except his decisions are based on the mood he's in. If he doesn't like ya you won't get a thing as a bowler or if he's had enough for the day it's probably not a good time to be batting.

Booney, i did not see the moon mate,it was an unfortunate circumstance that led me to being stuck in the elevator
