Think it's got to do with Ponting getting spoken to re the slow over rate and if it didn't improve etc then he'd be suspended
for the next test he's involved in. Hence why Australia bowled White & Hussey straight after tea to get a wriggle on.....
The joy of being on the hill drinking beer cannot be understated

Australia only has themselves to blame for their slow over rates, and it should not have been a shock to them. Up until tea Krejza had bowled about 13 of the 40 odd overs for the day, and yet they were still about 10 overs down. I think the authorities need to come up with harsher penalties for not bowling your overs in time. One possibility might be a 5 run penalty for each over a team is short - that would certainly make some teams hustle between the overs.

As for the choice of Cameron White after tea, what a shocker! His action looks very unnatural, and there is little fluency to it. I would have gone with Katich or Clarke before White.

Can someone show me the rule that says its cheating to bowl to an 8-1 field? Mitchell Johnson bowled with a 7-2 field for most of his spells today, which was necessary because of the width he offers the batsmen. If he ever masters the inswinger to the right handers he will be a far more dangerous bowler.

Curious to actually see the stats for teams that do bowl the regulation overs in a day. I don't think any team really does.

Batsman could take an extra 5s per delivery = 30s per over = 45 minutes delay per day - very good way to not face the allocation of overs, and get the other team fined/suspended.

watch those cheating curry munchers bowl wide of off stump with an 8/1 field all day tomorrow

thats not cheating heater. They should set semi defensive "in/out" fields esp to the spinners and let the pressure build on the aussies

India have also had a slow over rate this test as well, sure they were a little quicker then we were, but they were still slow, but we didn't hear anything about it did we.

Cricket is so corrupt. Funny how they issue a warning, threat if you will, right then and there after it had been going on for both teams all series.

When was the last time a team actually bowled the right amount of hours in a day?? These days they have a mother's meeting between every single over which slows play down a lot, something does need to be done about it as it will certainly help the game. Of course they need to crack down on all teams though...

Does anyone give us the faintest glimmer of hope to pull the test out of our a**e and win it like we did against Pakistan at Bellrieve all those years ago?

In Bellerive we had some guy named Gilchrist.

Adelaide Warnie.

Who will be the man this time? Watto?

If he smacks a 150 or so and gets us over the line all the knockers on here (myself included) should get a Watto tatt. 8)

The tactics being employed by Dhoni are PATHETIC and WEAK. 370 in a day is almost impossible and Dhoni has preferred to Defend the target rather than back his bowlers and bowl the Aussies out. This display shows why India will NEVER be the No1 Test country.

I reckon the Aussies are in with a real show. A pretty powerful hitting batting line-up will help things along. As long as they don't die wondering I'll be happy.

Any chance Australia has of winning depends on this partnership here. Hayden and Ponting both have to score heavily.
