especially from Dar, he usually takes 27 weeks to give an LBW, particularly from the Aussie bowlers

What a whopper.
must have been a dodgy curry he ate last night.
i would have taken a 100 wickets if he umpired in my back yard

White gets his bunny again

Tendulkar c. Hayden b. White 47

India 5/145

Was actually a really good ball from White albeit poorly played by Tendulkar.

5/160
WHITE 1/18[6]
Bowls his best spell of the series
AND his captain drags him to bowl Micky Clark
No one can captain a side correctly all of the time, but to drag Whitey was DUMB
He just made a V.I.P 40 with the bat, a chance to finish with 2-3 wickets
Poor captaining

Did we all see GAMBIHIR LBW MJ to a ball missing leg stump by a foot
Did we all see TENDULKAR LBW WATTO clearly hitting leg sump given not out
Poor umpiring

5/145 When Gangirly came in, AU still a slim hope
MJ 1/23
LEE 2/41
CLARK 1/22
The 3 quicks and only 3 bowlers in the team would have been licking thier lips
Gangirly instead was fed a diet of WHITE/WATTO/CLARKE

5/190
LAXMAN 55*
This man is the simply one of the most glorious flat track batsman AU has ever bowled to
GANgirlY 21*
Averages 42 in Test cricket
Averages 62 when INdia has drawn games , another flat track superstar

The talk is do we play KREZJA or WHITE 4th test
Me thinks the forgotten man , the man who would be the 4th frontline bowler must be in contention.
Big Bad Billegerent Bollinger
BUT AU must play Peter Siddle if the pitch is a fair one

NED you forgot Doc CLARK ???????????????????????????????????
Alan Border has just commented that the next test at Nagpour will be a graveyard for bowlers

Why dosent that surprise me !
Indian cricket will get thier usual short term fix knocking off AU on thier grubber tracks
But the long term ramifications is that they gotta play away from home where they usually perform below thier home efforts
Sure they win the odd series away from home, but is that good enough ?

To be the number 1 team in the world you gotta produce fair home pitches with a bitta give
That will improve the status of this team in the long term
They must do it after this series
With Drearyvid, Tendulakr, Laxman about to retire, and with Gangirly gone they will have a fresh batch of batsman who will be lost playing on tracks that have some spunk in them.

Khan/Sharma are good quicks, but they both could burn out b4 thier time bowling on placid home decks

Anil Kumble has just announced his retirement
Great career
619 wickets

Did we all see Over 76 LEE to LAXMAN
BALL 1...Short at ribs LAXMAN fends at it thru to the keeper, looked timid
BALL 2...Short LAXMAN tries to hook, misses , ordinary shot
BALL 3....Inswinging yorker, inside edge to pad

If only we could bowl on a fair pitch at this guy

5/208
LAXMAN 59*
Thats 259 runs not out this test

DECCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCLARATION
what !!!!!!
244 needed
10 per over needed off about 24 overs

what the ...
whats going on

The first part of your post answers the question mal. Kumble wanted one last chance to bowl.

Ending a game early just makes no sense. I'm sorry but it doesn't.

MY VOTES

1 LAXMAN 259 undefeated runs, sensational batting
2 GAMBHIR for his double ton as well
3 HAYDEN led from the front, got AU off to a good start to save the test

I was a bit disgusted with Micky Clarks batting
112 reads well
But if is caught at 21 he would have been chastised for that stupid shot to Sharmas butterfingers
Also he was dropped twice in the 90s with dumb lofted shots
Was caught at 112 to a poor lofted shot as well
Disappointing

Agreed, I mean the shot he played at 21 was unacceptable and probably would have cost us the test. Luckily for his and our sake he was.

Michael Clarke will become one of the finest cricketers we have ever seen. The guy will be a long term captain of Australia and rightly so. He is a superstar and a born leader.

The only thing really standing between Clarke and the level of cricket rooster is talking about is the brain snap tendency. Cut that out and there's no reason why he couldn't captain Australia.

I recall players such as Ian Chappell and Ricky Ponting getting out to silly compulsive shots in their youth, but they turned out okay :)
