mal, i think noffke defnitely deserves a chance before any other fast bowler in the country (altho bracken is only behind caus johnson is in as the left hander). I do not understand why noffke got dropped from the touring party after the west indies side..noffke will add alot to the side! i think he has the form behind him to be picked in the side, and i would go as far to say he should play ahead of watto bat white and haddin one position higher and noffke at 8. Especially when we get to Australia, four quicks, and the roy/white in with clarke as the part time spinners!
noffke should be given a chance IMHO

He's from the next best place though, Hohns & Border have been slowly edging the banana benders into the team. We should be called Northeastern Australia.

There were a few reasons why we got hammered in Mohali...

1) Hayden is not pulling his weight, an average of 55 and the leading Australian run-scorer in India, he needs to move his feet more to the swinging ball.

2) An over-reliance on Ponting and Hussey to make centuries, whatever happened to Clarke living up to his "so-called" reputation as the best player of spin in Australia.

3) Expecting guys like White and Watson to be world beaters when they haven't had hardly any experience at Test level. Give Watson some time, and you can't replace Shane Warne, the greatest legal spinner ever.

4) The quicks are bowling all over the shop, Lee is not bowling accurately enough and not enough variation from the entire fast bowling group. The fact that Johnson is the leading wicket-taker on 8 is saying something. Need to share the wicket-taking responsibilities throughout each innings. Lee, Clark, Johnson and Watson should aim to take at least 2 wickets every innings and let White and Clarke plus some run-outs to do the rest. Tighter bowling and a bit of reverse swing taught from England's bowling coach of the 2005 Ashes would help also.

5) Always better umpiring would help also...Rudi Koertzen needs ******* glasses. The traditionalists of the game say let the human eye umpire but when they continually **** up a test match, I say goodbye and bring in the technology, at least you know there won't be any mistakes. Ganguly was on 30-something when White had him stumped, if he gets out then Dhoni is the new batsmen with pressure on him to make runs and get the score to near 300. That was a crucial mistake by Koertzen and im glad he and Asad "Mr Trigger Finger" Rauf are no longer officiating in the series, although Billy Bowden is a bit of a loose cannon, but at least he thinks about the appeal before he just sticks his finger up.

Here's my team for the future over the next couple of years...im expecting heat so bring it!

Hayden, Marsh, Ponting, Hussey, Clarke, Watson, Haddin, White, Lee, Johnson, Tait (because im from SA) Phil Hughes from NSW to replace Hayden after next years Ashes series when Hayden retires, at 19 that kid is a gun.

Had my two cents worth, cheers

Good stuff but I can't see Hayden making it to the Ashes series. I think he might get the tap on the shoulder before then. I hope I'm wrong but he looks gone and you can see they're in his head. We can't complain about that because when you smell blood you have to go in for the kill and they're doing exactly what we would've done under Steve Waugh. Who knows they might even decide to start blooding Marsh in the NZ series?

It looks like Clark will be back tomorrow at the expense of Siddle.

Neither is Cameron White and he's a joke...and has a Baggy Green. Try winning a shield and then see how many of your blokes get picked for Australia.

Australia trying to decide between White and Krejza as spinner for the test after inspecting the pitch. WTF!!

I bowl some little door knob offies, give me a game if we are relying on spin to win the test!!

What's wrong with Michael Clarke's and Simon Katich's spin and going with 3 front line quicks plus Watson at 7 or 8.

Is Mick Clark injured, doesn't seem to have bowled much on tour yet compared with last summer.

Apparenlty (I don't know if this has been confirmed anywhere) Clarke has a back injury that flares up when he bowls, so he has been used sparingly.

What puzzles me more is why Katich hasn't been given much of a bowl (if any) yet...he can turn the ball very well. Maybe Ponting just wants him to focus 100% on his batting?

Just about game over with the toss. The best result we can hope for here is a draw IMHO.

Great start \:D/

Sewag LBW b.Lee 1

India 1/5

That's a big wicket. Sewag is so damaging so to get him early will really lift the spirits of the Aussies.
