Heard that the Clarets drew 0 - 0 against a 9 man Palace. Hmm, at least with the Eagles down to 9 men for the last 40 minutes meant that they were not going to attack. This was a big mistake by Warnock who must have believed we had some defenders. If only he had done his home work, he would have left 3 up front, 4 in the middle and 1 at the back, and Palace would have won 3 - 0.

Another disasterous bore at Turf Moor. Din't look like scoring, but neither did Argyle. Counted 4 shots in toal for 90 minutes, which is disgraceful on a good pitch in good conditions. At least Burnleys defence looked a bit less shakey than in recent weeks, but that probably had something to do with the fact that Plymouth offered not threat.

Anderson the loanee from Sunderland was BOG in my opinion. Looked comfortable, read the play and gave us something to build on on the right side. Eagles got sent off, and up to now has offered nothing but prima donna spats. Is he a good buy for Burnley. Hmmmmm not sure.

Ref was an idiot, and probably contributed to the lack of goalmouth actions as he blew for everything.

2nd to bottom and it's not looking good. Still Derby must be more worried. They were turned over by a weak Barnsley side and surely it is time for Jewell to take a walk before it's too late.

Well it was gonna happen sooner or later.

Iain Dowie has been sacked as manager of Queens Park Rangers, with Gareth Ainsworth placed in caretaker charge.

The Championship club announced on their official website that Dowie's contract has been terminated with immediate effect.
The former Oldham, Crystal Palace, Charlton and Coventry manager only took charge at Loftus Road in the summer.
Rangers were tipped to be among the Championship pace-setters, especially given their new-found wealth after the arrival of Flavio Briatore as chairman and super-rich shareholder Lakshmi Mittal.
A run of just one victory in their last six league matches, against struggling Nottingham Forest, had seen Dowie's position come under increasing scrutiny. And the club's board have now decided the time has come to act, despite giving Dowie just 15 games at the helm, during which he guided them to the last 16 of the Carling Cup.

The club statement read: "The board of Queens Park Rangers Football Club has terminated the contract of manager Iain Dowie with immediate effect. Dowie, who took over the reins at Loftus Road in the summer, oversaw 15 matches in charge in all competitions and leaves the Rs in ninth place in the Coca-Cola Championship. Player-coach Gareth Ainsworth has been appointed caretaker manager on a temporary basis and will take charge of first-team affairs until further notice."

Ainsworth's first match at the helm will come against Reading at the Madejski Stadium on Saturday evening.

Howdy Jabber. Don't see you around on here much these days. Here is an article I found in the Guardian. Things not great down at Pride Park

Derby three charged over loan

Three former Derby County directors and their consultants must offer their pleas to Northampton Crown Court next month over charges of conspiracy to conceal criminal property and other financial offences.

Those charged are the former Pride Park finance director Andrew McKenzie, the departed chief executive Jeremy Keith and the one-time director of football Murdo Mackay. Their adviser, David Lowe, and accountant, Mark Waters, have also been charged with the criminal-property offence.

The charges relate to a £15m loan taken from a Panamanian company, the ABC Corporation, in October 2003. In a previous hearing the judge, Ian Alexander, said the Crown Prosecution Service's case is that the group "feathered their own nests and [took] some for themselves".

Keith and Mackay are also charged with conspiracy to defraud, Lowe faces an additional charge of money laundering while Waters is also accused of false accounting. Depending on the pleas, to be offered on November 21, a trial is slated to last eight weeks from next March. The five have been remanded on unconditional bail.

Although the accused are unconnected with the current ownership, management and players at Pride Park, it is the latest controversy to surround the Championship club. Derby are the subject of a match-fixing inquiry by the Football Association following irregular betting patterns in their 2-1 win over Norwich City on October 4.

Poor old Dowie. He's a weird man that's for sure. There must be something seriously wrong with what he does behind the scenes because he seems to get some good results then gets sacked, so there must be something more than we know about going on behind the scenes.

A Wimbledon fan at work was saying about Ainsworth playing in a cup game for Wimbledon against Boro back in the day, that Boro was in attack, Ainsworth had fallen to the ground and the ball spilled to the boro forward for him to have a shot. Ainsworth scrambled in front of the Boro striker and put his head in the way of the attempted strike and forced the Boro player to fluff his shot. Ballsy.....no wonder he was always injured.

However, IMO, the days of player coaches are long gone. I guess they're banking on his injury run continuing.

Went with the whole Wimbledon thing DA. Vinny Jones, Fashanu bros, Wise, Hartson and few others I can't think of right now.

All a bunch of loonies on the field. It was that hardnut attitude that kept them in the 1st Div (EPL) for so long.

It's exactly what Spurs are lacking. Ohhhhhh how I'd love to see Super Ed Davids back in the side. Why on Gods green earth we sold Teemu Tainio (Finland's biggest Spurs fan) is beyond me and Steeeeeeeeed?

Heartbreaking.

That is the best football I've seen the Clarets play this year. Sure, Norwich were bereft of ideas and passion, but Burnley just didn't let them play. Eagles was sensational, and his two goals had premiership class written all over them.

Such was Burnley's dominance going forward, Alexander playing at right back again for the missing Duff, had so little to do, he was able to double team with Caldwell to snuff out Lita up front.

The Clarets missed a host of chances in the 1st half and you begin to wonder if it was going to be one of those days, but with Blake, starting his 1st game this season, teaming up with Eagles the result was finally put beyond doubt.

I thought Blake was the stand out today, and the understanding he has with Eagles will create many more goals this season. Burnley should have had a penalty late on when Patterson was crudely bundled over right on the by line inside the box, but the ref obviously took pity on a hapless Norwich by just giving a free kick. What was a nonsense is where he gave it from. The crowd as one bayed for a penalty and then cheered as the ref blew, but were stunned when he placed the ball a good ten yards from the by line and right on the edge of the penalty box.

Any other time I would calling for his head, but having a few $$$ on a 2 - 0 win, and the game already won, Ijust quetly smiled.

Football is such a sweet game, the Clarets are winning, playing the best football for years, and I have had a nice return for 3 straight games.

worst refereeing performance ever, how can that prick sleep at night after costing derby a win ,twice in one night. A one all draw when we scored three goals, the last decision he made was just crap, i sat stunned on the lounge for 20 minutes after the game. If we miss the playoffs buy 1 point i think i may fly to england and pay him a visit. this man should be fired, he has been suspended for a month for the reading debacle, has sent off 10 people in 35 games and now he has cost us 3 points anda chance to move on to the cusp of the top six. I am just shattere, i cant wait to read the transcripts of the press conference.
