the whole singh/roy thing totally pi55ed me off. i always believed that singh was guilty, yet in the end he got off, quite simply cos he was from the sub continent. imagine if one of our blokes had called any coloured player a monkey??, another thing that annoyed the crap out of me was tony greigs holier than thou attitude towards the aussies on 9 in a discussion with nicholas, slats, and tubby during that sydney test, he ripped into our blokes unmercifully, and slater and tubs just let him get away with it, imho most of it was unjustified and they just sat there and smilled....wheres phanto when you need him ffs! gilchrist has proved himself as a total sportsman in the baggy green and full marks to him for being up front about those whinging bad sport indians. i must add that i am for a fair deal to every player/country, as an example i was disgusted with mcgrath when he went off the handle at sarwan back in 2003, qutie simply he could give it but not take it and should have been dealt with accordingly.

Exhibit 1. Darren Scott Lehmann.

in Brisbane v guess what, Sri Lanka a sub-continent country.

FFS the ICC bend over to these pricks so many times its not funny. I can already picture the outcry of the Australian sporting public when the National team is forced to tour overseas during December

An interesting article, no doubt intended to increase interest in his book.

Now if we could just get other teams' opinions of Gilchrist's sportsmanship regarding all the catches he claimed during his career that were given out when they were clearly shown to have missed the edge....that would provide balance to the article.

Let he who is without sin cast the first stone.

The thing that really annoys me about Greig is he is forever looking down his nose at anything that could construed as poor behaviour or lacking in sportsmanship, but when he played he was one of the worst (if not THE worst) behaved player in living memory.

It's the same with Gavaskar .. .what sort of person wants to forfeit and entire game of Test cricket just because he thought he got a poor decision from the umpire? Total wanker, and yet he passes judgement of others.

Here is an articles written back in 2006 about a match back in 1973 where Tony Greig was out of hois tree as usual:

Greig's rant ... and Vishy is cradled

The MCC tour of India in 1972-73 saw some keenly fought encounters, and its fair share of unpiring controversies. In the days before neutral umpires, the standard of umpiring frequently came under the scanner, and here, Cricinfo looks at two flash-points that could have snowballed into bigger issues but for the discretion of the men in charge. India went on to win the series 2-1, but the side led by Tony Lewis, a Welshman, left with a fair few admirers after having pushed the Indians all the way.

Ajit Wadekar

That 1972-73 series against England hung in the balance with both sides tied 1-1 as we entered the Madras Test. As the game entered the fourth evening, Mike Denness starred with a fine 76 to set us a small target of 86. I walked in after Farokh Engineer fell early to Chris Old, and slashed at an outswinger to trigger the controversy. The ball flew fast and low to first slip where Tony Grieg stooped low to catch it. It had all happened in a flash and I was not sure whether it was a clean catch. Also, Greig was a guy who liked to win by any means and since I didn't see it clearly, I stood my ground, waiting for the umpire to rule me out.

Ahmad Mamsa was the umpire and he must also not have seen it properly. When he didn't signal me out, Greig created a huge fuss. He ran from first slip, all the way to where Mamsa stood, uttering four-letter words and carrying on with his bullying act. Alan Knott threw his gloves down, and a few other English players also carried on. Mamsa then walked across to square leg to consult with his colleague Nagendra. From where he stood, Nagendra must have had a clear view and he conveyed to Mamsa that the catch had been taken cleanly. Mamsa then declared me out and I walked back. We went on to win, with Salim Durrani hitting a six to take us home in style.

Donald Carr, the MCC manager, personally expressed his regret to members of the Indian board for the anger shown by Greig and others when the decision was delayed

Listening to Tony Greig, you'd swear that poor behaviour is something that only the Australians are capable of. He's an idiot.
