I wouldn't be so sure mate, saw him last weekend and he said he is off it and it's too hard to crack. I know him and Thompson played a few games at Callington in the Hills league under false names and towelled up the opposition, just mopped up along half back with 60+ possessions between them but had no-one with any skills to dish it off to...

I wish, i'd be telling them to keep playing golf & i'd be caddying for one of them on the Pro Tour.
60+ possies for Callington isn't exactly good marketing if i was their manager

Just a new-comer to this caper TW... Not funding those boys NO, would send me broke with their binge drinking.
How are the Saints coming along for '09? Seems like they're your team, gonna lift?

From what i saw - Bond & Barnett just sat in the goalsquare most of the time, Myers sat on the last line & let goal after goal through, and Ryan Fox got it enough just didn't use it overly effectively. Jenner was the only bloke in the middle worthy of getting the pill.

Saints is the place I coached at last year but wouldn't know anything about next year or what they are doing/planning.

Looking elsewhere?
Goolwa could be on the up with a few recruits, just need to hire a few more new names with some enthusiasm.

I'll tell ya what their gunna do -they're gunna unleash the 'slim-line' Ryan Bridges on the GSFL in 2009.

You'll note the frequency of his posts has decreased substantially as he's spending less time in front of the computer and more time in the gym and on the roads. Look out Todd Steele! He's coming for ya!

Not that I'm suggesting Ryan Bridges is a regular contributor on this forum

Max is playing golf, not playing footy, never played for cally in 08 (not even under a false name) and my auntie got 60+ possessions for Cally with a torn hammy so lets not use that as any sort of reference! Having said that, if those lads want a kick and a catch then come on down.

Spotted rhino weaving his way through the sand hills this morning, with the earphones in listening to 1539am (get on Zipping for the Cox Plate). Your a big fan of the Hussler aren't you silky??

Saw McCardle out at Cally with my own eyes. He's never gonna make it on the golfing circuit anyway he should get on-board the 'Goolwa Revolution'

Indeed i am a fan of the Hussler, the champ made me some easy money but i knew when to get off him. Zipping? I like big Mal.

Said to have given up on the pro golfing and ready to have a run again, also rumoured he is bringing a few other guys who are in the same boat - Matt Butler, Brad Thompson - two players with silky skills who played out at South Adelaide as youngsters.

I personally know Matt Butler and he has just returned from China so his golfing career is in full swing also, he is hoping to be in the Australian Open as well.

Where did this come from Silky?

I did hear this NWNWB, and in my opinion it is not good. He teaches these kids and is using that to his advantage. Wonder what the McLaren coaches think of this.

Putting Buts hat in the ring was a far fetched. Just trying to excite the Goolwa folk on here with the prospect of some young talent down at the Saints. McCardle definitely more likely than Butler, but having said that, golf is a cut-throat game which can turn in the blink of an eye. I wouldn't rule anything out. Is Shane Fox still playing at Goolwa? Wretched run with injuries and what-not but interesting if he will stick it out at the Saints?
