I love watching Michael Clarke play. He will be one of the finest players and leaders we have seen. He is a star.

Why were the Aussies so aggressive from the get go today? would have thought one or two down for 150 would have been a good goal at the end of today and if then set it up for aggression in the morning session tomorrow

Stumps. Aus 5/141

Clarke 42no
Haddin 37no

I know it's almost impossible but how good would it be to watch Clarke bat through the day tomorrow and save the game. He is good enough to do so but could Haddin, White, Lee, Johnson, Lee and Siddle do the job of supporting him? It's highly unlikely but if (a very very big if) we save this game we will see one of the all time great innings from Michael Clarke. I hope it happens. Would be better than Ponting's knock in the 4th Test in the Ashes 2005 and that is one i have watched over and over again it was that good.

I think the replacement will be a bowler may be they might be forced to look at cullen, doherty, geeves or heal. then you look at the allrounders that can bowl a little bit nofke, voges and hussey. i think a waste of time taking a batsman like marsh and not play a game when you have enough batsman that can cover those position if needed in the next two test.

Also if clark is fit i got a feeling lee may have to step a side because not looking like taking a wicket maybe we have to give bolly a game see if he can look like he going to take wicket. siddle has bowled well enough for another game and white is just doing what is ask about him. the next test may suit him more because it has more bounce because kumble loves bowling at the next test venue.

This is all apart of our trap. It's to make India believe that they are better then they really are.

I think the scrutiny on Hayden is a little early in the series, he received a shocking caught behind decision as well as a dubious LBW in the second innings of the first test, so both those results should be ignored. He has failed twice this test but so has Punter and Katich.

As for Day 5, the Aussies can bat it out but Clarke would have to replicate his first innings over here of 150+ and Haddin and White need to provide support for at least the first 50 overs of the day, and then hope for bad light.

The selectors weren't serious in picking him, were they?
