Never say never!
Brown to Salisbury is a real possibility if the paperwork I've seen is legit.

could have a 12-14 team comp almost hey...

All of these clubs would want to make sure they have enough players to fill two sides before they nominate.I hear the fines for forfeiting are pretty hefty.Any word on who will be coaching Ovingham next year?

i've heard a couple things. the A grade job i think is done and dusted but the bloke who was approached to take the magoos might not be able to do it due to his young family and work commitments.

both played this year and were integral parts of the premiership.

Just come back from footy trip mate. Travelling a bit rough actually.

Lucrative offers, eh? With what little cash the club has to spare will go to the current playing group. At the moment the club is finalising details regarding increasing best player awards and implementing awards to the A Grade 21 for every win.

i'd assume adelaide uni to stay up as there's not room in any of the lower grades for two more university sides given we run c1, c2, c4 and c5 sides already. wouldn't surpise if smosh & shoc go down the grades however going on their results this year and the willingness of ovingham et al to at least say that they wish to play in div7.

ill believe it all ......when it happens.......all thistalk happens in the silly season(oct to feb) but when pre season starts and you only have 20 players again as last year thenyou still nom for 1 team. i guess only football directors know how many teams they nominate, but honestly if you dont have players in this year, why , in oct would you all of a sudden have them.....only when pre season is up and going and ALL your players are signed up youll know if you have enough for two teams. and thats not 42 players, thats 60  this year i was reading ovies had 50 out to train but still only fielded an a gr side.... this is just 1 example

i also don't expect ovingham to have more than one side - we've heard it before when they're coming off flags but it doesn't pan out.
would like it to happen though.

but the silly season is entertaining.

i think its prob wishfull thinking on behalf of a lot of teams finn, a lot dont realise its not that easy to say ' gee lets put in a b grade and play div 7,' now im not just saying about ovies but all other teams that go to 1 side then try and get back to 2.......why did they go to one team in the first place , is the quest they need to ask themself,, are we going to keep all these players next year year after......etc etc etc this is the reason why a lot of these clubs fold

I was told a couple were going to leave. I assume the ex-SPOS player who played for us last year asked one of these fellas if he'd like to come to Houghton for a run. IMO, was never going to happen with both clubs in the same Div though.

Has Div 7 next year got some ex Kersbrook Connections?

Whisper I heard was that ex Brookers Mak 'Cabbage' Kamenic (A grade) and Ben 'Rex' Hunt (B grade) are the Coaches at Houghton, while Paul Niven and Ash MacDonald had the respective gigs at St.Pauls O.S. Could be way off the mark, but would make for some intersting duels between the ex team mates in the Houghton v St.Pauls O.S. derbies.

Looks like Kersbrook won't need to lease Houghton's Oval next year with the repair work done to Kersbrook's Oval, however I understand the Cricket Club will still use Houghton Oval during Summer.

The right direction?

If no one else goes for the position then nobody really needs to vote him in. I was there but I am not a member anymore so did not have a vote. He was footy director last year but pretty well had to run the club most days of the week. Have to give hm a chance least he had the guts to put his hand up for the job!
