Gepps X have recruited big time so far. I'm not going to argue how much they may or may not be paying, but obviously they are talking the right language to these players. Roey is doing it again, can recruit like no other coach i know.

Just covering our losses with good players. Roey knows how to do it and it's not always a case of money!

If I told you that I'd have to kill you! A couple of those guys would love that comment, 'country footballers'.
Irrespective of where they're from, it's about value for money and there are plenty of good footballers that have come from or are playing in the country.

A lot of the country guys have played at SANFL level, you only pay what you consider they're worth. One of the big problems is guys play Res footy, go and play a couple of seasons in the country somewhere on huge money, get sick of the travel so go to city clubs expecting to get the same coin. Country footy tends to over inflate the value and egos of some players. A player worth $150 max in the city can pull $300+ from some clubs in the bush, what is not taken into consideration is the time/travel involved to get this sort of money.

Good points aceman. You do hear of alot of money getting chucked at country footballers. Be good to see if the lads coming from the country are up to the standard. Where are they from again?

Gaza have landed in a bad position re Mead, here's why;

1) Mead doesn't want to be there as shown by the number of jobs he has applied for. It was even in his contract that if an SANFL job came up he could leave.

2) Half the players seem to want him gone.

3) If they sack him they will be perceived as the club that stabs their coaches in the back every year.

He might be a good coach but my guess is there is trouble on the horizon.

Well bugger me! My comment was made in jest about the name of the suburb, not the footy club, so maybe get your head out of your bum and note the difference.

And who said I was your friend?

Do you ever think Kilburn will become the Mapleton Grove Football Club?

Was there once a grove of mapleton trees in the area?

What will they call Yatala?
