Long time ago now hftb, in the 2003 finals we beat mclarens in week 1, strath beat us in week 2, you beat us in week 3 then you beat strath in the GF so that finals series was wide open and to be honest has been the catalyst for the past 5 years success so if anything we thank you for that day however much it hurt at the time.

Some work to do down the road but steps in the right direction are happening and i reckon Mclarens will rise up the ladder next season![/quote]

agreed id take your 5 over our 1 any day, but since your saying thank you any chance we can have the "eagle demon" :P cup in 2009
who ever thought of the saying winning isn't everything, probably lost!!

Who will be the chairman of the GSFL in 09? Herman or Gordy??
I have heard Gordy just needs one more clubs vote and he will be in the top seat.

Bas is coming back in Febuary but I doubt the bays will give him the job, just a gut feeling.

I hope Herman does get it again cos i think if Tonkin gets it (no disrespect to him) the committee will be too heavy with Strath and creek people

Adam Carnevale won by 2 votes from Todd Steele. Was a close count with Adam winning it with the last votes of the night.

He's overrated anyway. Not sure on final position but was out of the top 3.

Couldn't have said it better myself!

How many players from the state country side would've finished out of the top 4 in their clubs B & F?

Goes to show Willunga's depth

No i am not on the committee and i would not have a clue who they would have voted for however i do know that Gordy was going to have dinner with some of the clubs who's vote was up in the air, ie. Yank, Myponga, Compass, ENc Bay

from what i have heard bass will be glad to come back after working like a slave in sydney. He missed the presentation night on sat night at the bay due to work, which will not go well in his favour for next year, but still probably deserves a talk with president to plead his case.

In other news Owen love won best and fairest with Ronald Rankine coming second and in the reserves Joel Richards won with Dave Wynet coming in second.

HOW MUCH BETTER IS THE CROWN IN THE DINING AREA THAN THE FRONT BAR, BIG NIGHT SAT NIGHT JUST BEEN

Thats his first WoW. An injury free year helped his cause as in previous years hes polled well but missed too many games through injury. A very popular and worthy winner, rarely plays a bad game! =D>
