Glenelg Football Club Best and Fairest Awards

Postby am Bays » Sat Oct 11, 2008 9:42 am

The winners last night

Was a really close count compared to previous years when there was usually a clear winner. Murphy was leading at the end of Round 17. A strong last few weeks and final series saw Ty Allen regain the lead and win.

B&F
1. Ty Allen
2. Byron Murphy
3. Adam Fisher
4. Trevor Cranston
5. Luke Panozzo

RE Campbell Best Team Man: Trevor Cranston
Ossie Amies Most Improved: Ty Allan
Stan Wickham Memorial Trophy Best Junior: Tom Holmes
Tom Gleghorn Players Player Award: Trevor Cranston
Snouts Louts Player of the Year: Ty Allen

Reserves B&F: Jack Horan
Reserves Best Team Man: Chris Kane
Reserves Most Improved: Rob Plant (his speech was a classic - "the award for the bloke you [the coach] didn't think could play at the start of the year")

Todd Grima was awarded the Snouts Louts Player of the Finals Awards.

Zac Milbank and Andrew capel attended to present Ty Allen, Trevor Cranston, Todd Grima, Sam Rudolph, Adam Fisher and Mark Mickan with their Advertiser Team of the Year awards

Well done to the players.

And well done to Glenelg Football Club for including the supporters in the official awards night - fantastic stuff, I reckon.

Yeah, it was amazing the number of times the Snouts got thanked especially by the Pres, CEO, Senior Coach, Captain and Reserves Coach in their speeches.

very positive vibe last night. However there was an under-current of steely resolve to maintain the gains made this year. The players video review of teh GF was conducted Thursday night. The players are determined to be there on the 1st Sunday in October in 2009.

2009 training for the non GF players starts on November 17, GF players return on Nov 24.

Hi Tassie,

Was there last night with my work mates Andrew & Zac. Great night had by all but ran a little late.

The steeley resovle that you spoke about was well said by President Gary Metcalf.
Knowing Gary from his time with Former Phos Camden and state SAAFL coach Garry Paech on interstate trips he will leave no stone unturned to ensure trhat the club continues on it's upward climb.
He was right when saying junior premierships are good but not what they are about and winning the A grade flag is what they want.

Can't wait for season 2009 Go the Bays!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :supz: :supz: :supz: :supz:
2017, 2019 & 2020 PREMIERS
RICHMOND, RICHMOND, RICHMOND.

Let that be a lesson to you Sturt. You don't beat Glenelg 3 times in a row in Grand Finals and get away with it.

17s and 19s awards were given out yesterday at a junior presentation.

Not sure who won the awards.

Yep, was very much appreciated by the Snouts that the club has again allowed us to present our award as part of the official presentations on the B&F Night.

And this time around, the MC didn't feel the need to bag the importance of the award as he did last year...
