Which club is it?

Postby aceman » Fri Oct 10, 2008 2:32 pm

Which country club has offered a current SANFL player $900+ per game?

I hope you've got some good players to get the footy to him 'cause that's a lot of coin.

who cares?!?

you're just jealous cos he's not comin to your club, if they can afford it then do it!

as mentioned in another thread, country teams need all the help they can get and if it takes cash to get players then pay it out.
I am not talking to you for 3 minutes because you punched me in the head and it hurt and that was not okay for you to do

Now how did you arrive at that conclusion? You gotta get a lot of kicks for that money.

That sort of cash is ridiculous. Ur much better off getting 3 players for $300. Guys come back from the SANFL and dont dominate country footy like their reputation indicates. Its different footy!

Best of luck to him tho if true (highly doubt it), 900 in the hand would be nice but!

I'd say its either a club at least a couple of hundred of k's away from town eg South East (maybe Robe??) or Eyre Peninsula, and/or a comp with a points system in operation.

I know GX is near some paddocks aceman, but it's not in the country.

Robe pulled out $1200 for a player the other year. The other options would be Bute, CMS, Tanunda or Renmark.

Only having a stab, but I'll say Hargraves to Torrens Valley.

If you believe all the talk about Torrens 'Cheque Book' Valley, rumour has it, Luke Slattery (ex Magpie) was on similar coin this season, with a healthy signing on fee! The man CAN play though.

TBS, those paddocks are now full of brand new homes at Northgate, mind you there is still some land available at Yatala but it ain't Gepps let me assure you.

i disgree with you NG paying player rips the heart and soul out of a country club they are better off putting time and effort into juniors rather than paying big amounts of money to one player. buying a premiership doesnt make you a great club in the long run because all you do is keep shelling out more cash for no result put you money into juniors. but sayin that i think paying petrol money or finding good footballers jobs is ok imo!

I can see both sides of the arguments there, but the sides i think are most successful are sides that combine the two. Find a balance of good recruits and nurtured juniors and success follows.
