Skip, The tanunda Footy trip was made as an attempt at humour, not a very good one I know!!!

Yeh the broadcast would be a good idea, get some more money out of sponsors too, Then if siiting around watching the game, you can listen to match of the round.

If volunteers do the calling it will also be saving the Station some cash so a win/win situation!
Perhaps Sunbowler could mention it now to the station, so if it takes some time to convince them we can get it up next year!

I wouldnt mind listening to match of the round each week, especially when I cant get to the games!

Bag & Sledge wrote:Does anyone know if Mike Teakle & Keith Jameison will keep their job on the Triple B FM radio show on saturday mornings?

My thought is we need some new blood like Sven Lindner or Paul Ryan to get involved, at least they can put two words together in a sentence, unlike Teakle.

Bug & Sledge I wish it was a job, a paying one that it is, sadly it isn't. I'm a member of the Community Radio BBB and my gig is Saturday mornings 52 weeks of the year. Mike comes in as a guest in footy season and because he has spoken to all the coaches during the week he has some information to pass on. Pub or Blog talk is useless and we seek an objective approach. Mike has a way to go there but is improving. We have tried to get another person/s involved to break the total Angaston connection, but can't find anyone willing to commit on a weekly basis. If Mike gave away writing for the Leader we would need another person/s. He is also useful to do the Netball while I sneak away to chat with our old mate Dalwood on 5MU. If anyone is prepared to make the commitment, can refrain from swearing for a couple of hours, be mindful of libel rules and knows a bit about local footy they are more than welcome to join the show. If they do the presenter's course and become a member of BBB FM they may inherit it. I've been doing weekly radio here and elsewhere on sport for about 25 years, and while I love it, there comes a time! Nearly the best thing I have ever done is footy is to do live broadcasts. I want to bring that into the equation for the BLG once again but it needs a lot of work at the radio end to overcome the music and arts fanatics. As for the show itself, I'm never satisfied with it and know that it could always be better. C'mon put your hat in the ring B&S.

From memory a couple of seasons ago there was a Ryan on the Footy show with Mike Teakle and Keith Jamieson

B & S – Since when have you been made the hirer and firer of the local media fraternity? What a stupid thing to say to a couple of blokes that are doing this in a voluntary capacity. If these blokes weren’t doing this, you wouldn’t even have a Saturday morning footy show. Unfortunately the Sunbowler is a gentleman and is being diplomatic in his reply to your post. Why don’t you get off you’re hind and give something back to the community. I know Keith & Mike are always actively looking for neutral opinions from other clubs within the BL&G. Why don’t you send a private message to the Sunbowler with your details and I am sure you will get a positive response.
P.S - I think you may stumble getting past the presenters course.
Are you prepared to pay the price? WILL YOU PAY THE PRICE?

Could be a few people, Cameron Faulkner, Quinten Graham or Sam McCardle(probably not). Probably Graham, didn't do much at Longies though.

For the record Taylor won then Howard the young ruckman 2nd, well done to both

I only tell it like i see it Brad. I take solace in the fact that i donate my time and money during the year, being at trophy night is something a penut like you would think makes the difference.

LC mine was also a vain attempt to raise the humour, I do realise you were kidding around.

McCabe will either totally hang up the boots and enjoy some time with his family or if Hamely Bridge can convince him, he may well play out a year or two there.

Keep the rumours coming about trades, most of which will be bulls""t. Someone mentioned Brad James earlier, looks as though he has committed to BBH next season. Barossa look as though they may need to do some heavy recruiting with some of the stars leaving.

Angaston - Craig Hadden
Barossa - Ryan Nelson
Gawler Central - ?
Tanunda - Steve Lubke
Freeling - Damien Prose
Willaston - Mark Seelander
Sth Gawler - D. Herzick
Nuriootpa - ?
Kapunda - ?

Slowly getting there, anything further on the 3 remaining clubs?
Stirlo, how are the applications coming for the head job?
Are kapunda seriously chasing a Player/Coach, and if so is M Greenwood the no. 1 candidate.
Where do Nuri sit currently?

Do we have expected dates these announcement will be made?

I could say Im heavily involved with your club and it would haold as much substance as you have provided. When is your club going to make a decision of your League coach, surely you could give us a date at the least??

You present as another internet fool who may have passed reading in school but never progressed to comprehension.

I have made no suggestion that I am involved in the decision making at centrals, i have good friends and close ties with the club officials, i make a difference with my money and time when work permits. I support all of the decisions the committee makes are in the best interest of the club at the time.

Who would be stupid enough to suggest a date for a decision that can take 6 to 8 weeks of due process, we only had an advertisement in the sunday mail last week, you perhaps?

Without getting into a debate here stirlo, Im the internet fool, yet you claim all this inside knowledge, yet have not presented one peice of evidence to prove that! Anyone could say I know something but cant tell you untill it becomes public knowledge!

I dont claim to be in the know, and anything I hear I happily share with the forum, which is what I thought the whole point of joining was about!!

With the clubs decision, you would hope that at least 4 or 5 of those 6-8 weeks you mentioned would have occured by now, otherwise your telling me/us that the decision to not reappoint Brant was a quickly made decision. Now I doubt that, so I make the assumption that the committee, whether that be you or not, have a set of guidelines that their next coach has to meet to be appointed. If they have already received say the 7 applications that someone posted in this thread, you would think they would have started interviewing those candidates now, not leaving all the interviews until after the close date that applications will be accepted, and I say that for 2 reasons:

1. Say they get 15 applications, that would take some time to go through, interview and allow the approriate time to make a decision

2. Whos to say that the coaches that have applied will wait around for your job, they may just get a better offer while waiting to be interviewed, Some of the names being mentioned in this forum are in line for other jobs.

Time is important to your club as I believe that you have had a spare import spot for the last 2 years (not including the Stanley signing that worked out so well for you), yet you are the first lot to whinge about others imports, so if you were getting serious as a club, a coach would be appointed to sign the best players as soon as possible.

So for a simple question asking how applications are going, and a question asking if a deadline had been set are not too much to ask are they....And the date question didnt mean it had to happen straight away!!!

Gee the answer could have been :

We have received around 12 applications and we endeavour to have the position filled by 31st Oct.

Not too much to ask is it!
