SACA Membership

Postby blink » Thu Oct 02, 2008 11:42 am

I have been thinking about paying the $35 and getting my name on the SACA membership waiting list, so I can hopefully one day get a country membership.

Does anyone know how long I will be looking at waiting for a membership offer?

I guess only new members would be accepted when either: someone dies, someone cancels their membership, or they increase the seating capacity in the members area.

I am livid at my old man for not signing me up at birth!!

It depends on how many are on the waiting list. You should put your name down if it's what you want.
In the meantime you could get a supporters pack that gets entry to all SA games for the year including any finals that we do make. Huge savings.

I signed up at 18 and had my name come up three times by the time I was 32 but as I was still playing footy and cricket never took up the membership as wouldn't have found the time to go to justify the costs plus the $250 odd joining fee on top of the $300 odd a year for a country member. Hasn't come up since in the last 5 years.

Now retired from sport except for golf but with work still don't think I would get there often enough to get my money back each year. Even my old Man who has hit his 60's and retired from work has handed his membership back in cos he wasn't going enough.

Thanks for that Hazbeen. Since reading your post I have decided I'll pay the $35 and get my name on the list and decide if I'll join up if my name comes up, at that time.
Looks like I'll still be spending the next few years on the hill - not a bad thing, but my liver might disagree!

get your name down now blink. With the proposed SACA renovations of the Western Stands the capacity of the members area will increase and you will be needed to pay the bastid off along with the rest of us.

I had my name on the list for my 18th birthday and it came up before it. this was with the Eastern stand development. Would have been for less than 12 months.

I use it for at least 3 days of the Test match each year, at least 3 or 4 days of a Shield match and a few Sate OD games each year. Try to attend the ODI depending on the weather and most footy matches held there ( I went to all the footy finals this year).

Nothing stopping you standing on the hill when you are a member but be prepared to cop a bit of abuse with your collared Shirt

I went down on the waiting list when I was about...14? They said it would be 5-7 years from memory. They lied. 2 years away still I think.

In last year's supporters pack (or the year before) you could get a Redbacks cap and all these other things for around $30 yet now the pack has next to nothing in it for about $50? No Boof this season either so staggering stuff from SACA.

7 years is the current wait if you register today and the capacity doesn't change. The redevelopment will decrease the wait time substantially below that.

I saw that $50 membership advertised in the Tiser today, I assume that is a pass that gets you into all ODD matches and every day of the SS? If so, I reckon I'll get on that.
