Don Brook - not sure who you have me pegged for, but I think you are referring to Ellis - he plays at North Clare right? What is the p!ss reference in regards to??
I would think it would refer to Herzick's alleged antics... Top bloke, and I thought he was a good coach, but was a loose cannon on the drink.

Stirlo, can you at least confirm Skips thoughts on Hahns payments... you crew always cry poor, doesnt sound like the payments of a poor club..

$700 + bonus is ludicrus and anyone demanding that sort of money to play in gawler needs to have a good hard look at themselves.. thats about $100 bucks an hour and explains why those sort of blokes are called whores.. they would certainly want to be able to light the training track up and collect the water bottles afterwards.

We are a proud club that gets the most out of the little resources that we have... This is just the typical smear campaign that people adopt to make them feel better about being at a club that can only buy their way into finals action. Skips probably supports tanunda or barossa.

Total amount spent at the dog track on player and coach payments in 08 < $32000

Show me where you can fit $700 a game for Hahn plus incentives into that and pay other players and coaches....

now now LSL lets not act like a wolf in sheeps clothing there is more than one way to keep your players satisfied.... for example the gate takings may not always give a true relfection of the crowd in attendance. I did hear a story that Ivan Silvy used to receive a percentage of the gate at barossa.

At least Barossa didnt verbally offer their players/coaches jobs, then a week later sack them
Don't think you have heard the latest regarding Brandt and Gawler Central
Shows with their actions why that club can't go the extra step

B&S you are around the mark with your question , the SANFL has approached Mick for a vacant position within there ranks. His tireless work with the BL&G has lifted the comp from a rabble 2 years ago to a competitive level again equivelant to leagues in outback SA.

Can you outline the changes Mick has made to turn around the fortunes of the BLGFA?

There are numerous policies which Mick has implemented along with the support of the comittee. The import rule which allowed cellar dweller clubs like Barossa Districts win two consectuctive flags has now been rectified with Micks guidance and ongoing overview of the leagues clubs. Barossa Districts would of won 3 consectutive flags if it wasnt for a novice coach with no respect from his playing group.Freeling also have benefited from the large import concessions but were not able to capatalize .

Alot of work goes on behind the scenes Shrek , someone like yourself with little knowledge of grass roots football wouldnt grasp the concept of what is involved to be on a commitee.

Its a tough business , and you are not there to make friends. Micks hard work over the years has seen the BL&G blossom into the league it is today.

Apart from the appalling grammar and spelling(including spelling the same word two different ways; both incorrectly) and the obligatory digs at me and the Barossa coach, are you saying he has fiddled with the import numbers?

Wow!

Still haven't told us what your hero has done Hafey. Fiddled with import numbers(i.e. gave less to the two top teams, how original!) and left the comp lopsided with only two real contenders. How has the comp improved dramatically over the past two years? Hope that's not all he has on his CV.

I'm looking forward to your response Hafey complete with an insult directed at me, Barossa or one of their coaches and a load of waffle to avoid answering the question.

Sorry if I sound silly, but why is that funny? He coached Hamley to a premiership and didn't he also win a mail medal in the BLG?

Hardly a smear campaign Stirlo, your club was the one that came out and totally degraded a man who has done a good job at your club, thats a smear campaign. As for the $700 a game it is very easy for you to fit that payment in, you just don't pay many other players which is actually quite admirable. Fantastic stuff Brad Man to notice Stirlo could not make his own beloved tigers B&F.

JD spoke to one of your players yesterday, he is very happy that Hads has been appointed and there will hardly be the walk out like some have suggested, a popular decision. Hads is one of the good blokes of the comp & is a good loyal club servant. Heard that you had some interesting applicants, one demanding $35K and promising to bring in a heap of players with him, also for big $, perhaps this applicant also had a crack at the Willaston job?

Prouse another very popular appointment at Freeling, the locals are very happy and it maybe enough to hold the great Ozzy Leske in the league, Leal wants him big time at Broadies.

Stafford and a bloke by the name of David Smith (I think - has coached in the Adelaide Plains) on the short list for the Nuri job...

Chris Ladhams was in the box seat as player coach, however pulled out because Nuri couldn't get him enough coin... lucky for the tigers I reckon...
Tim Clarke was the #1 player in the AFL
