A decent coach isn't going to win Ironbank a premiership, they haven't got the cattle. Maybe the $$$ they save by not appointing Chris Ladhams could be used in luring a player or two.

Any news on Loby? I hear there could be a number of signings joining the fray over the summer. It'll be itnteresting to see how that all progresses. They've got a cracking coach in Oborn....one of the funniest blokes you'll ever meet.

My tip for the wooden spoon next year is Birdwood. And the following year they'll head back to Div 2.

Ridiculous comment mate... I pretty sure the name of a coach doesn't win you a premiership. From what i'm told he was asking a fair packet too. Ironbank will be better served spending the money on players.

This is a joke this post isnt it, Surely!
Oborn- crackin coach, well does have a good record i spose  and If the rumours are right, Matthew Kreig to Birdwood, and a couple of others, with there good juniors, there will be 3-4 teams below Birdwood! Seen Kreig in SANFL, he is a gun!

Kreig may be a gun but i would think birdwood would need about 6 recruits better than there best current player, who is possibly hanton, to have a top 5 chance surley?

I had heard you guys had possibly recruited one bloke which is what i based my judgement on. You guys lack some serious depth which hopefully you can change over the summer. Obviously you're not keen on giving up who you have recruited but i think you guys would need 4-6 really decent players to even consider being a finals threat. I really think Loby will pick up a strong contingent of players, but then again, my sources had promised me the same thing would happen this time last year.

It would certainly be good for the comp for there to be no easy beats. Should be another corker of a year next year.

Oh and regarding my comments on the great man in charge at Loby, Bottler is a legend, a genuine top bloke who you'd definatley enjoy playing under.

Ladhams, Chris Ladhams? Surely Ironbank could strike a deal with the local bakery, substitute money for Pies and Pastries!

I think Ironbank made right call in not throwing alll but the kitchen sink at Ladhams. Yes he was and probably still is a very talented player with a lot of top level experience under great coaches (Sheedy, Ayers, Jarman etc) but lets face it, he has no coaching experience and also had a huge reputation for alienating himself from his teammates with his lack of professionalism, poor dedication to training and off-field behaviour. This is hardly the sort of bloke you want directing a young and talented side like IB. Experience is only valuable if the individual can utilise it to improve his players and mould them in his own good image, IMO.

Do you actually know him buddy. He was Assistant this year Under Jars and The Reserves coach at North this year after his retirement. Yes he did a few bad things after the Crows who doesnt in life. When he does stuff it gets in papers thats why people like us know. And alienating himself from the group is a load of S**t. I reakon he has settled down now being married and having a kid. So much you know about this bloke. Get yr facts right before opening yr trap. So because you havent been the main man means you cant take on a bunch of country footballers with a young group. What I have seen Ironbank lack structure. Goodluck to the bloke who takes over. What ive heard he is great with developing players. Isnt Michael Voss coaching Brisbane this year without coaching????????????

I made a comment based on my experience of him (about 5 years), if he has turned things around recently then best of luck to him. His father Ray has always been an excellent coach and mentor so if he is starting to follow in his foot steps then he'd be doing well. But if you think he always had the full backing of his teammates during his time at North then I would question your knowledge of him.
