Trevor is pretty deep in at South at the moment.

No Trevor quit his role as football operations and put his hat in the ring for the 18 gig and was unsuccesful.
He is currently in Indonesia getting married and we wish him all the best[/quote]

Don't mean to be picky but Thailand actually!!!

Coaching announcement not far away... Will create lots of interest!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Dion Hibberd playing against former clubs Twisties and Shoes
Aaron Lahndorf playing against former club Morphett Vale Emus
And pending who is coach (lots has been posted in last 2 days)
Evans/Golding coaching against former club Reynella
or Mitton coaching against former clubs Noarlunga and Hackham

Hibberd is not doing to badly for a guy who must be 31 or 32. I think he kicked about 70 or 80 this year?

Mind you, he'd be no guarantee to play at townies, he's switched clubs more than than Greg norman before an approach shot to the 18th green. I believe he's had at least two stints at Shoes, twisties, and towns, plus a few other to boot.
Where's Bill? Yeah... Hmm... Bill is on the Villa Quatro, on the road to Salina. I will draw you a map.

Here I am!

Golding and Evans joint coaches. The club left that decision entirely up to Golding and he decided it would be best for all parties to have Evans as a co-coach for 2009. Golding will continue in his capacity as Captain-Coach...

Hibberd went well kicked 83 in a very hotly contested Div 2 SAAFL comp.

50% of the group not happy???? Nope only one negative comment was made and that was about the weakness of the bottom sides, which is obvious to everyone... Otherwise the playing group AND members seemed to understand the reasoning behind the PROPOSED move...

Hibberd & Dabrow against Shoes, Landorf v M/Vale, Golding / Evans against Reynella??? [When did Golding play there??]

Exciting times @ Raglan Ave, South Plympton!!!

Hairy_Cat wrote:Have just spoken to a bloke from EFC, has been there a number of years. They had a meeting at their club last night (Thursday) where the move to SFL was discussed and they ARE moving to the SFL.

Golding will stay on as coach, he will co-coach with a guy who is affiliated with the SFL, previously coached at Reynella.

Looks like Salisbury will be staying put...

Jayne. Dabrow as in John Dabrow?
Great lad would love to play against him again, some hated his arrogance but he is a great person, full of spirit and shit stirring.

Has Jonny Dabrow got the passion for footy back? I know he had all the talent in the world with skills both left and right foot and was able to do the freakish things but jus didnt enjoy playing footy all that much!

Remember 1 day in school footy he kicked 20 goals at full forward and went off early in the last.

Funny funny man!

Will be interesting to see what the SFL have to say. I can't see a vote happening tonight as most of the club representatives will have to go back to there clubs and get there management committee to vote on allowing them in, then they can go back to the SFL with there clubs vote.

How was the vote SB, unanimous or otherwise? Did the Townies guys have to present their case to the other clubs etc.?

As for a presentation to the clubs, the Edwardstown Pres (Paul ?sorry) spoke briefly and answered any questions.
My and others were concerned about the fact that we are bringing in a side that admits that juniours will not be up and running for 2-4 years as they are conected to Sunday footy with south metro? and one of the strength's of our comp is to see kids playing on Sat morn in the 14/16/18 and then seniours that make a full day of footy for all and brings together familys who get involved for years to come.
