Cornesy on 5AA tonight...

Postby Cambridge Clarrie » Tue Sep 30, 2008 7:31 pm

Did anyone hear Cornesy play that old timey music this afternoon just prior to the 6pm news? It was like a train crash. It was horrible but I just had to keep listening. Easily the worst 3 mins of radio for the year!

He was trying to prove to listeners where the phrase "that's what I'm talkin' about" came from...
"They do say, Mrs M, that verbal insults hurt more than physical pain. They are, of course, wrong, as you will soon discover when I stick this toasting fork into your head"

It was Fats Waller singing This Joint Is Jumpin. He's my fathers favourite and I must admit I like him too, his songs have a lot of humour in them but that wasn't exactly the best recording

Wouldn't be surprised if he did say the phrase but probably in a different recording...being jazz there's alot of ad-libbing so no two recordings are the same.

LOL Rik Waller.

I still laugh when Stephen Merchant says his name
