Kosy didn't get paid, he went back home for a kick and the only money he recieved was from best player awards.

Apparently $400 for best on ground from what he told me earlier in the year.

Terrific bloke and would always play for the love of the game in my opinion.

Good on Koster for doing that, just thought these big name players would have been getting a bit to play. But, the money for BOG sounds like a bit of incentive anyway, atleast you're going to get your best out of players, rather than paying them just to show up. :D
A few young players need to look at Koster as an example. Shits me to tears that these kids, who have a bit of ability, let it get to their head and start asking for a bit more pocket money and leave their club to get this.

Doyle was on $150 plus $15 a goal at Yank in the second half of the year, now that's just throwing money around. He wasn't playing A grade at the Saints.

Victor have Culpitt and Colville from Woodville/West Torrens and Rhett Biglands in their sights for player/coaching roles in 2009.

$150 wouldn't have even covered the petrol bill given that he was travelling from Mt Gambier.

It did help though, hence the reason why he left the Saints, they weren't giving him anything, especially just to play B's.

I said a few pages back that they would be approaching some high pofile names with a very good package deal that includes big $$$ aswell as a full-time job. Keep an eye out for more news on this in the coming weeks.

Jesus Damian, how good a source is this. They are huge names. Biglands seems unlikely but culpitt and coleville. Do you knwo which name would be favourite at this stage.

I think Damien's source would be solid, has been spot on about rumours lately including the fact that Clive Waterhouse would be staying at Port. Its good to see th rumours building cant wait to invent some of my own.

The contact details have been given to the Football club, as they are such big names they will be after huge $$$'s and Victor won't be the only club chasing their signature. Biglands is very keen to get into coaching, the playing side of things might not happen for him. At this stage i do not know how the proceedings are going with these 3, obviously they are speaking with other coaches aswell in case neither of these 3 candidates are available at the offered price and package etc.

You would think they would be looking for somewhere around $15k.

That would be each damien?

I have absolutely no idea, but I would guess $700 per game each as players and maybe 20-30k to coach?

Definately $15k each. I don't think coaches in the GSFL (don't care who you are will be getting $30k) could be wrong, but for the sake of the game it shouldn't happen.

I reckon there would be numerous clubs in SA prepared to pay Biglands $20k + to coach from a forward pocket.
