On a serious note. Darren Beer seems like a fantastic coach. Talks to his players well, has the respect of them too. kinda like a Mick Malthouse or Leigh Matthews...( same hair colour as them too )

TC you seem to know a bit about the Saints. If so how much did we spend this year? I think you'll find that our spending was no greater than any other club in fact in probably would be less than most. Then again petrol prices went up so that would have had an affect.

i didnt really say it right but what i meant by it was if there were more emphasis with senior success, and more importantly what it takes to have success at the senior level, then the juniors would become better senior footballers. being prepared to be a small fish in a big pond instead of a big fish in a small pond...

What ever happened to Ben Fennell who was going to be playing at the Saints this year? His didn't recover from his knee injury?

Jimmy How do you measure success Mclaren A grade have only been in the comp 8 years Langhorne Creek have won 2 premierships Willunga 5 in that time and Mclaren 1 so where does that put all the rest of the clubs. They need to make the right decision on their coaching appointment and beleive success is not too far away. If the junoirs keep winning then you must grab a bit of that and work with it. Remember the big picture do not base it on last season.

Small Budget?? I dont think so. Small budgets are what the saints, pongy & yank spent, hence where they fininshed. Not knocking Compass at all, i think they are on the right track. If you dont have the locals to fill the positions on the ground, recruit them. If you can spend the money spend it.

I think you will find Yank spent more than you think, hence their performance this year. Their biggest problem was getting all the players on the park week after week! :)
Mclaren also spend F all money which is why we are also slipping away. You definately need to spend a little bit to get competitive with the better clubs. If you have a good base of local players, a recruit or two definately helps. The trick though is to keep those recruits for a few seasons and top up each year if possible. :)

Koster wanted to finish where he started so i doubt he would of wanted coin. Groom & Freeborn were just having a kick with Koster. Doubt Borlace is getting cash, local club & he probably earns enough working 4 the air force. Maybe petrol money to drive from the city.

I stand corrected! Why would you pay someone massive coin to play when he feels like it??
