WE OWE THEM!!!!

All discussions to do with the SANFL

I tend to think all clubs have that kind of supporter. It just stands to reason the more supporters a club has the higher the amount of D/H supporters.
I clearly remember having some rather heated "discussions" with Bay and Port fans in the 80's. It's a numbers thing.

Agreed LL.

I remember copping it from Bays supporters when I was a kid.
All I could say in return was "sack your coach again" following the Graham Campbell thing.
Port supporters were fun to deal with too.
I can remember copping abuse from Norwood supporters once.
And then there was WWT - Super Sid "get away you basta*rd kids!" lol
You're my only friend, and you don't even like me.

Good not agree more Leaping Lindner.
Watched a Norwood "fan" causing trouble with some guys behind the Northern goals. Security and cops moved in so it eventually calmed down. Does this mean all Norwood supporters are like him? No, the dickheads are in every club. Combine booze + dickhead equals trouble.

Christ... welcome to OUR (WWTFC) World !!!

We have been coping this sort of 'tribal abuse' for the ENTIRE decade !!!

My son (7 yrs old @ the time), wearing his Eagles Stuff, was 'set upon' as we left the Lakes Hotel to walk across to FP, before the '06 GF by these 'heros'.

Also before last year's 1st Semi in the Carpark of Adelaide Oval whilst having a kick of the footy.

I am sure that many of these 'so called' supporters only come out @ Finals time... is it me or is it VERY reminisent of the Old Days & Maggies 'supporters'.

There are some QUALITY Centrals supporters around, SMAC & the like, in fact my BEST mate is a Centrals supporter but seriously, is anyone surprised @ this behaviour??? :D

Stampy, perhaps because you lot have been absent from this time of year for a while now, you may have forgotten that these people exist. :?

This week's match should be a 'cracker'... 20 K + hopefully, & I would hazzard a guess... Not a Flare in sight

I watched a group of Norwood and Central fans going at it (verbal banter) at Norwood Oval this year ... Naturally there's a touch of arrogance among some CDFC supporters and why wouldn't there be, when their team consistently backs it up on the park, and for the Legs upstarts I guess they saw this day as being some payback for a decade of being slaughtered by the Pups..

On this occasion it was the Norwood blokes that kept firing off the verbal rockets, the Centrals lads remained calm and gave it back all-in-all seemed good natured fun over a few beers ... In the end when the Doggies pinched the game, several Norwood supporters (most of whom had had a skin-full) wanted to take it further and it smacked of not being able to take it when the shoe was on the other foot.

I spoke to one of the Centrals boys after the game and he was good value, and sometimes I fear supporters like these get lumped in with a "bad element" that follow the club, when they shouldn't be.

Unfortunately I've seen plenty of idiots supporting my club over the years, so the old saying of "everyone has them" is oh so true.

Make sure you get the calibration right as the effects of being two years out are potentially disastrous. All very well if you get stcuk in 1974 but I think if you are stuck in 1978....
Let that be a lesson to you Port, no one beats the Bays five times in a row in a GF and gets away with it!!!

I was wondering if anyone here witnessed an incident that occured on the train after last nights game?

A Tigers supporter (who appeared to be quite drunk) was harassing a family of Sturt supporters on the 6.02 (ex. Adelaide) Norarlunga bound train. He was in the last carriage and he continued to yell all sorts of obsenities to the Sturt supporters infront of their children and everyone else (including Rail Staff).

The TransAdelaide Passenger Service Attendant and the Security Officer he was with that were both present in this carriage decided to do nothing and let this incident continue until the supporters in question alighted at their respective station.

If anyone has witnessed this, please let me know - as I'm contemplating forwarding a complaint to TransAdelaide and/or the Ministry of Transport for their lack of appropriate action/security measures onboard their trains.

The behaviour of this Tigers supporter is completely unacceptable and the action that TransAdelaide took is also quite poor, given that this bloke appeared prepared to escalate the conflict into a physical one given the opportunity.

Yep, can't have been too bad. A Central's supporter must have stolen a Glenelg's supporters clothes.

I went as a neutral supporter to the finals on Sunday (as West Adelaide fans have done for a number of years now) and I have to say, the sheer number of Centrals fans there was sensational on their part.
I think this is where the problem lies.
Say one in 20 supporters of a club is F'd in the H.
If you have more supporters at the ground, naturally their will be more supporters who are F'd in the H.

Their cheer squad was in full voice and good on them.
The flares have no place at footy games, go watch the soccer and take your F*cking flairs with you.

I was on that train, in what became the middle carriage - they docked a third carriage onto the end when it became apparent that 2 carriages weren't enough. Standing room only. Plenty of Tigers on board, also a few Sturties and Doggies. There was no trouble whatsoever. Repeat, no trouble whatsoever.

I would contrast that with the train ride home after last year's Elimination Final. Some bloke wearing Tigers regalia hopped on to my carriage, p!ssed as a parrot, singing and screaming at the top of his lungs. Nevertheless there was a family of Sturties on board, and the patriarch made the mistake of hurling something back to the p!sshead, and then it was on for the rest of the journey. I spent the whole trip cringing, hiding my head behind the footy budget.

Footy does seem to bring out the worst in some people - I've turned into Mr. Hyde myself once or twice over the years, so I ain't one to point the finger. These days I moderate my drinking and treat other punters with respect. Nevertheless when it does happen the best you can do is ignore it. Returning fire can just make things worse.
