Chasing Carp well sort of

Well done Micky as I said before practice makes perfect. Once again you have me interested in flicking the fly in SA I might try a bit higher up the Torrens (closer for me and an excuse to go for some exercise).
Anyone approaches I will confirm I am The MickyJ in disguise (love the Eagles and the wrestling)

Must admit those small Trout flies are hard to cast with my 6 weight who would have thought that .And I cant wait for my Carp flies to arrive from rod and fly .
Plus I am going to the Fresh water fishing club meeting in oct a bit more help .
And watch out for trees and Reeds when your trying Alaska something I missed when I started wading

For anyone thinking about getting stuck into carp fishing no matter what type go for it .The Carp that jumped twice near me last week was huge . stuff that Bragging rights are made of

Mine is a 5/6 weight rod and yes I do find the casting difficult (need more practice). I have bought a number of flies from Rod and Fly and have found them to be excellent value for money and all so far well tied. Is the club you are going to the SA Flyfishing club (Expensive) or another? Yes the wide open spaces of a lake, with waders does make life easier. I hope to be able to get back to Tasi in Feb.

I actually thought heavy Saltwater flies were hard to cast not the tiny ones my reel is a 5/6 weight rod is a 6weight.
