Hightailed our ass back to the pub as soon as we found out there was visiting netball team in town. Even Port Boy would say we redeemed ourselves slightly once ther was some skirt involved.

We dont call Pat McCarthy "supermild" for nothin.

Fair call port boy. Im sure some of the lads wanted to go back and tidy themselves up for the evening festivities. Do the hair and all by you havnt got that problem

Serious note though. i have been hearing the nightclub like attractions at this years destination are a bit strict on attire. does this mean no socks and thongs for t-shep?

Second topic of conversation i would like to bring up...coz im bores as hell. What areas do you think we need to recruit and/or improve for us to seriously challenge in D4?

Opposition posters who know our squad feel free to comment on the later as well. Especially Zed....i think you opinion is held in high regard round these parts. And especially by GG posters.

You already have the forward line to go straigh through div 4. Depends on your ruckman and the continued development of McArthey etc down back. Your forward line alone if you can get the ball down there should hold you in good stead to be highly comeptative.

We worried about the ruck at the start of the year but the year darko had couple with lepka (our version of hensel) coming on more than we expected we did very well in that department.

As much as these guys had amazing seasons, i think we still need one big mutha (Scott Peterson please) to feed our classy on ball unit which should hopefully get stronger next yera with the return of a few SANFL kids.

A couple of hard-nuts IMO, we had two very good games against you where Scudds was the difference, our hardest player didn't play either game against you and when we challenged you at your ground, you struggled to put up a fight.

Your delivery into Scudds was exceptional and his marking was equal to that both times. We were very lucky to get close in round 1, losing players left, right and centre and severely underdone.

I think you are right there as well. Skipper Adam Peterson would have played that bigger body role in the middle if he was 100% fit but was confined to full back for alot of the year. I think the hardness is there, specifically with guys like boxer and gentilcore, just not necessarrily a mature body to intimidate.

They'll grow, btw, I don't mean snipers, I mean blokes that don't get side-stepped and are prepared to lay tackle after tackle and apply constant pressure, so much so that opposition players wont even try to take them on.

You're ball movement from one end to other is great to watch though, you seem to know each others strengths and weaknesses very well.

hey BB..i think i know who portboy is now..and i am sure he will lead the boys well on the trip away :P

in regards to rucks..i cant remember who rucked for you against us the second time but i thought soz probably beat him..but he beat most rucks this year as he is an exceptional player..yes you will need that taller ruck for div 4 and upwards..if you can supply your classy on ballers nothing will stop you in div 4..you have crumbers up fwd so dont need them..who would you play FF if scudds broke a leg..i noted you struggled against plympton at plympton when sucdds didnt play..perhaps a back up for him as well is needed to be acclimatised..and in the GF with scudds not prominent in the goals in the first half you couldnt breakaway from greenacres..so thats an area

now tbh..not much ball went into our attack both times we played you, so i didnt get a great look at your defenders under pressure..mcarthy was your best defender and did very well but you need a gorilla to take on the other gorillas you will come up against..

we are nit picking a bit tho..i have seen most of the good teams that have come thru div 6 and 5 including para hills, mitcham, pulteney, fitzroy and alfc..the div 5 team alfc had 2 years ago rated very highly but after the display you put on at st marys in the first rd i knew i had seen the strongest group yet..so thats a pretty strong endorsement of your team

so..a back up FF, a tall ruck with sanfl experience preferred, and a gorilla for defence..i think you will slide right through div 4 easily..if mitcham and para hills can i am sure you will

if you cover your bigs..you already have the smalls and mid sizes under control..then your laughing

Very true.
I agree about snipers as well. Hard players are those that can take a hit and hit back twice as hard, legally, when the moment is right. Furno is our resident hard man but his role this year was more over a forward. Excellent defensive pressure in the F50 and did a good job on forth in the GF considering adam's freakish ability. Maybe with a better preseason he can take another step and add another string to the midfield bow.

I agree our ball movment is our strenght. As our kids develop and skills better hopefully we will get more precise, efficient and abit more dangerous with our movement. Dash continuing his development into a classy CHF is helping that as well. Still only 19!

On the same page as you as well Zed.
It is a long shot but hopefully we can entice Scotty Peterson to come back and play with his brother. Gepps are not to far away from success though so that will be tough.

We had the second FF covered with tucky at the start of the year. Again if C.Parrish comes back he will help there. Furno is an excellent second option though if scudds goes down. Quick and hard.

We made a massive play for Cheetham when he left north but he settled on Mt.Compass after we almost had it in the bag. Maybe with us going up again he may reconsider in offseason.

Back up for McCarthy would also be handy down back but all of a sudden if you introduce 2-3 new players into the side, plus the ones coming back from league clubs, you are droppin 5 or so from a premiership side.
Headaches at selection are a blessing in disguise though!

i am sure i could handle that headache BB :)..its a good position to be in..players will want to play at your club now out that way so who knows who you might attract..plus a clean out at nafc is on the cards with jars gone..might be a few lads looking around

amazing turnaround by your club from 2006 when we sent you down to div 6 at harpers field late in the season..did any GG posters here play in that game and remember the ruckman(i think) who walked off the oval after being face planted on the far wing in the first 1/4..he took his guernsey off and went home! his face was a mess..grass burns all over it
