I wouldn't think this rumour is true, has had quite a good year at Port Maggies after missing a few games due to injury and suspension, i would think he would go around again at the Maggies. Let's hope so.

I have followed up on this rumour, Clive will be staying at the maggies for atleast another year and so he should, plenty of football left in him yet! Hueskes and Waterhouse would have been a good match up in the local derby though!

Hueskes playing days are over so the word on the street goes!

Does anyone have an idea of who will be coaching victor next year? Have heard they are looking to spend big $$$'s for a big name coach.

Also do Victor have a big anniversary in 2010? 125 years? Plenty of $$$'s going around for a premiership in 2010 from what i understand.

I believe its a 150 anniversary, it will be pretty hard for them to pay $$$ for a flag now the points system is in, thats what it was bought in to stop. I am pretty sure Victor are looking for a playing coach, could Leigh Kruger return and do the job one day?

They are paying big $$$ this year for players willing to play atleast 2 season ('09 & '10) after season '09 they will go down a point allowing for some more recruiting next year. Coaches that i have heard they are after are much bigger names than Leigh Kruger, possible playing coaches as well. Just want to know if anyone else has heard anything.

Obviously you have Damian! Why not share it rather than just query everyone elses knowledge if any on the situation.

To answer the question yes Joel Garrett will play A grade this week, super player and as a 16 yr old not afraid of the bigger bodies and has more than earnt his spot.

Not afraid of the bigger bodies, he is one of the Biggest!

I'm just going to hold of on my information for a few days BJ, see what happens over the next couple of days. What i will say is one's an ex crow and the other an ex Woodville/West Torrens player.

Are there any Victor people on here?

You're right there, hes a strong bodied young man and hopefully he plays a blinder this week along with 20 other guys selected in the A grade. A huge day coming up and only 4 sleeps to go before we hopefully take home 3 premierships!!

With such a small number of clubs represented on the day will the crowd figures be down? I wonder how they are planning to get everyone into the oval, will they open the back gate at the northern end goals and allow people to enter from there aswell as the main entrance at the school end?

Willunga hasn't had a big following through the minor rounds but i'm sure you will manage to have plenty of support come saturday. Strath always has a very big following and there will be plenty of curious bystanders there to maybe witness a history making 5th straight premiership for Willunga.

Figures may well be down, but you would still hope that as it's the big 'finale' to the season that even people without teams in would come and watch and join in the atmosphere of the day \:D/

As for the parking... I didn't realise there were 2 gates... they might have to have an 'in' and an 'out' .... and surely a car limit... it is going to be hell if you go in and there's no space to park... anywhere... and then you have to try and get out again.

Will be interesting to see what they do anyway.

O:)

You would think so.... but you'll just have to get there extra, extra, extra early... otherwise as I said before... you'll be parking on Victor Harbor Road and walking in :D

Okay, I'm off to training now... have a banner or two to help make for the weekend \:D/

Don't the odds of the Grand Finals being moved now. Once the games are started everyone will forget how shit Compass is for a large number of vehicles, it will be a different atmosphere to other GF's, less cars and BBQ's but more people in the huge grand stand area. Let's hope the play can stay on the top wing for much of the day.

Saturday may be the day to go bottom side and set up with the old Moana Beach Shade, BBQ abd Beers. I know it's an ordinary oval but I guess we will have to make the most of it. :partyman:

What do your respective clubs do for your B & F counts? do you include finals games or not? Obviously league medals don't as not all teams play in finals.

Unfortunately guys I dont think we'll see many neutral supporters there on the weekend due to the following reasons.

1. Only 3 clubs represented
2. The venue (if i were going,i'd like to sit in the car on the outer side and watch the game in peace. thats what I like about country footy. who wants to go to Compass on a cold day and stand in the terraces)
3. the cost ($7 enrty + $3 budget). Better of saving your coins and heading to the SANFL for better value.

Just on the costs I think the GSFL needs to look seriously at the finals entry fees, crowds (without seeing figures) seem to be down. People are not rocking up unless they are directly involved. I had one family as an example that came to our 3 finals with mum, dad, grandma and grandpa. 3 x 4 x 7 (+ a record) = $93. I'd rather see the prices come down and get an extra 200 people through the gates or a pay per car system or a discounted price for the early games beacuse rarely do colts parents and families stay around for the entire day.

I will be tuning in to 90.1, hopefully Kev and Nifty can give me a score every half hour.

150th anniversary?? Hmm, i'm not so sure about that, they would needed to have commenced in 1860 and i don't think thats the case.

Spot on LF. The league need to drop it to $5/person or $15 for a full car. I reckon they would get a stack more through the gates. They do not receive any gate takings through the year so whatever they take anyway is a bonus. A bit greedy they seem to be.
