Game on this Saturday! Looks like Compass will throw up some Round 18 like conditions when Strath beat Willunga. Kappars great weather chart! I just wonder how much the 'wave height' affects footy?

  Not in a very big way LF, I just find this chart to be the best for wind speed and direction.

I went to the top of the bridge on Sunday but then I looked at the team board and realised that I have a pretty good team to work with next year so there is still some hope. The boys are over it. One of them was even quoted saying "At least we dont have to play footy on a cow paddock next week"

the weather and oval is playing right in to Strath hands. Surely the Willunga boys will have round 18 on the minds!

Willunga $1.16
Strath $4.50

Willunga by 28 pts.

B Grade - Strath by 19 pts

S.C. - Tossed the coin and it came down and landed on its side   too hard to pick as with all s.colts matches all year.

J.C. - NFI.

It will be worth going on Saturday because in SA country footy not all has gone to plan to in 08. There have been plenty of upsets and we saw it in the GSFL this time last year.

Yorke Peninsula: Southern Eagles won the flag from 5th. Highly fancied Bute finished top but went out in straight sets
Eastern Eyre: Kimba got up over Cowell who were red hot favourites after only losing 1 game for the year
Great Flinders: Ramblers pulled of a miracle to defeat Tumby Bay who haven't lost a game since late in 06
KTNFL: Although Keith were reigning premiers, naracoorte were the better side during 08 but keith won the GF easily.
Mallee: reining premiers BDT and favourites got rolled by Lameroo who sent R.Maynard out on a fairy tale note.

Having said that my tips:

Willunga 45 points
Strath 10 points
McLaren 5 points
McLaren 40 points

My Tips/thoughts.

A - Willunga
B - Not sure
Senior Colts - McLaren... coming in with a bit of confidence, but know the job's not done yet !! Going to be nervewracking for us mums !! :D
Junior Colts - McLaren... As long as we play as a team and don't think we've already got it in the bag.. should win... I think it's going to be closer than people think though.... only beat Willunga by 3 goals last time around... and they have beaten us during the season. 8-[

All I know for sure is there's going to be a hell of a lot of red and white flying around

We will be in for a very good day on Saturday.
All close games.
Strath were very good against Compass a week ago and even better against the Creek on Saturday.
Will depend on the centre square.
Strath will win in a close one
Strath B's will also win
U17's hard to pick. Not many sides can do it from 4th or 5th
But McLaren have done it well for 3 weeks
McLaren by a goal
U 14's McLaren by 2 goals

I wouldn't think this rumour is true, has had quite a good year at Port Maggies after missing a few games due to injury and suspension, i would think he would go around again at the Maggies. Let's hope so.

hopefully the weather will be fine and more importantly the girls will b out and about on satday!! it should b a cracker day of football with every game set to be a blockbuster!!

tips
A'S - Willunga by 2-3 goals - should b a great contest all day
B'S - Willunga by 5 points - strath will go into this as undisputed favourites, but just like against the creek last yr in the GF you cant count willunga out on GF day!! i believe it will be extremely tight all day with Willunga kicking a goal after the siren to win back-to-back.
17'S - Strath by 2-3 goals - strath have been good all year, tall and quick, like mclaren, but its tough to come from 4th or 5th.
14'S - Mclaren by 1-2 goals - mclaren have been the best all year and it showed last time these 2 met in the semi, mclaren were to strong for Willunga and mayb they think they hav it won?? but once again you cant count out Willunga on GF day.

all and all should b a great day of football!!
The greats weren't great because at birth they could paint,
The greats were great because they paint a lot.

My tips this week, which will be a cracker

A Grade - Willunga 37points, will step up another notch and secure yet another flag for this magnificent team who are brilliantly coached.

B Grade - Strathalbyn 27points, too tall and too much depth and the week off will help them.

Senior Colts - i have gone with an upset i think McLaren will win by 9points, Strath will be fresher after the week off but i have a feeling that the McLaren boys have hit some real form and will guts it out for a good win in what looks to be match of the day.

Junior Colts - McLaren by 23points, they have been the best team all year and will get the job done again.

Too hard for me to pick a winner on saturday, i'm sure Strath will more than take it up to Willunga for atleast a half and wouldn't be suprised if they knocked them off. The reserves has been Willunga all year until the past 3 weeks, i would expect them to bounce back an put up a very good fight, senior colts has been to tight to pick since round one and the juniors i think will be close, Willunga let themselves down in one quarter in the semi-final, no lapses thistime and it's anyones game.
