Well done to Golden Grove, great effort from Ashely Mitchell and the boys...

Sadly, I heard the B grade went down just, but the C Grdae won their first flag today as well...

For GG, 2 out of 3 aint bad as Meat Loaf said...

Dont wanna harp too much.... but Grove won, and plenty of people thought i wasnt gonna happen and were maybe hoping it wasnt gonna happen. But unlucky, to all the doubters, Get A Burra Up ya is probably the best way to put it.

And if you look at previous posts i said Boxer for BOG and he had a absolute blinder!!! Amazing performance!

I was there in the 2nd quarter and it was fairly even even going goal for goal in the dying minutes of the last half. I think there were 2 or 3 points in it at half time..

Awesome game to watch... Shoulda been there Zed.

Grove up by 4 with 7 minutes left and Forth kicked a goal and celebrated in his usual fashion, then 3 minutes later hoklas and khundt in the goal square by themselves and nearly messed it up, but hoklas with a goal off the ground.

So many hard contests and 50/50 balls, a lot of injuries outta this game. Number 11 in his last game going out to hit people was a nice touch to the game. Greenies head-hunting the young, smaller type players e.g Gentilcore, Smith, Boxer. But showed they can match it with the men and werent intimidated.

Boxer stood up massively, with IMO a BOG, as well as the Best and Fairest Khundt playing a crucial role. With Seaton playing his role and justifying his selection after 3 weeks out with a Hamstring injury,=.

I cant talk.
My head hurts
And im about to hit the beers again.
Great day for the club!!!

I think k-cash gave a good write up of the game. Boxer was amazing. He was the only player who really stood out. Lots of very good performances but he was above and beyond. Amazing hanger from Mick "Disco" Furno as well. Hope someone had a camera on that.

Well done to the majority of the greenacres boys. We were in the same place last year and it sucks. You are a good side and were excellent opponents. I say majority, and ill be honest, there are a few lads on that side, number 11 and 12 being the major culprits, we immensly enjoyed making cry. Sniping f-wit. The rivalry will be alive and kicking next year.

Congragulations to all my Burra boys who did as proud against the men of greenacres

trevellian stood scudds. scudds was knocked out early in the second and did well to come back and contribute with three in the second half.. also creating contests to bring the ball to groud for the likes of hoklas and boxer.. i dont think they were used to the amount of balls hitting deck around him..usually he takes them all.
it was good to see the young legs of the burras over run the old tiring dragons. with a 1 point buffer at the 3/4 time break to the burras and the dragons kicking with a 2-3 goal wind in the last for GG to the the first 2 goals of the last quarter was a massive lift.. greenies did well to claw it back and probly squandered a few chances that they probly shouldve taken but hit the lead with not long left.. the burras pushed forward and it looked as if the 2 boys kunhdt and hoklas had made a mess of things but managed to get it thru and that was it. :D
just like the congratulate greenacres on a good hard tough game of footy and it was a credit to you guys that you never gave up.
also great to see the young burras not take any s**t for the older bigger greenies boys.
well i best be off to go celebrate some more..but to all those doubters out there

GET A BURRA UP YA!!!!!!!!!!

Once again congratulations to GGFC..they were young and quick.ideal preparation and well coached.
please dont get carried away with the comments about rough tactics other wise you might choke on your halos..there was plenty going on out there and BOTH teams were involved

From our point of view the whole year went 2 min too long

Once again congrats to the Grove boys enjoy the celebrations...it will be a tough 2009 for both clubs

WELL DONE TO ALL OUR BOYS... AND WELL DONE TO PLYMPTON..
IMO I THINK WE LOST IT RATHER THAN THEM WINNING IT BUT ALL CREDIT TO THEM..
WE KICKED POORLY, AND OUR DECISION MAKING AT THE END OF THE GAME DIDNT HELP....

30 SECONDS TO GO ALL WE NEEDED TO DO WAS HOLD THE BALL NOT PASS IT TO A CONTEST...
