Good try, OL. Not falling for that.

I doubt it. He had a family tragerty which may keep the poor lad away from football for a while. Its a shame cause he is a great player

Word is that he's playing in PLFL, but word from THERE is that he's on his way back to HFL.

Yes lots of upsets in the Central Division over the weekend. The Boundary Rider in the Final Siren did not tip a winner.

I think Blackwood may have a strong say in the final compilation of the 5 starting with the clash against Mt Lofty this week and may end up taking the spot of Hahndorf in the final mix.

Ironbank finally on the board but may struggle to win anymore games this season.

G'day all, haven't posted for a while but some interesting reads. Seriously, Douleblues is on the money (excuse the pun), for a country side with at absolute best, population of 2500. To be competitive (ie not bottom 3) they would not only need $50k but some connections in the recruiting arena. Remember this would become their yearly investment because they cannot produce the number of good juniors as other clubs. I think a few of you overate Dawe by the way.

Good results for the Central league on the weekend,

Mt Lofty were due to drop a game, but i wouldnt have thought by that kinda margin. They are still the team to beat i reckon

Blackwood, finnaly gettin their act together, Word is that big stormy Sommers will be back shortly to resume rucking duties. Bynre at Badenoch in vintage form

Ironbank Win in a big shootout at the thunderdome, Wendelborn showed why he is up there with the highest paid in the league, it was worth the wait apparently, now he's gotta string a few together.

lads, very interesting results on the weekend. I went out to see Onkas play a great brand of football against lofty. Lofty struggle at Balhannah.

Lofty looked flat and onkas looked like they wanted to win that very badly.

A few handy players floating around at Onkas with Shee, Kerber, Klunn and a few other quality on ballers. Don't be suprised if they do real well in the second half of the year.

Indian, I haven't heard about this wendleborn?? can play no doubt, what have you heard he is on? Would be interested to hear who would be the highest paid player in the league? I am thinking it would have to be cook?? Any thoughts lads. I heard a large amount. Something like $700

Problem is its all rumours. We would never really know if its true or not.

Wendleborn has played up at Tailem all his life i think, learning his trade off the Wizard, Muffy Katyineri! Not Sure About the $$$, But i think the Thunderers had to dig deep to get him.

By all reports, onkas are flying, Where have they pulled contin, Shee, and Klun from?? Wait to Goldy gets back in town, and they be even harder to stop. They look a genuine chance now, along with uraidla and Lofty. Hard to see see anyone else taking it out.

Has Ormond Allen been playing at Handorf??, Havent seen his name in the papers

Wendleborn started at Marion in SFL, then had 3/4 years at Tailem before joining Ironbank this year.

I also heard Lofty looked a bit disinterested and not as hungry as Onkas.
As for Blackwood, never wrote them off. I stand by my first round prediction of my top 5 ie Blackwood maybe 5th, Hahndorf on the slide.
Lofty
Uraidla
Onkas
Mt Barker
Blackwood.
I think that was close to it. Will stand corrected if anyone finds the post.

yeah right. I will keep an eye out for wendleborn when I get a chance to see Ironbank play.

Contin is from broadview in town, shee is from north adelaide, originally from onkas I believe and klunn played league footy with sturt and has played plenty of games. Quit this year and will probably try his luck in town at another club next year

Cheers for the vote of support on that one Dr Football. $50K might sound like a lot of money to some people but when you know what some players in both divisions are on and you do the arithmetic of what it takes for more players on top of that, $50K would get blown pretty quickly.
In regards to Dawe though, there must be other people who rate him highly as he has once again been chosen in the squad for the combined Southern Associations to play in the State Country Championships. Will stand corrected but wouldn't he have played for SA country in 2004 if we were still sending a team to these championships? - By the way, why doesn't South Australia send a team to the Country Championships any more? - Realise that Dawe stands out in a lesser competition but the mark of a quality country player is how he plays in association games and it seems he plays quite well in these games.
Great win by Onkas on the weekend over Mt Lofty, especially given the result the first time these sides played. As some of you may know, Josh Contin also played some league football at the Bay a few years back. Really the question has to be asked though, would Onkas really want Goldsmith back? No question a highly skilled player but is extremely high maintenance and I don't know if his ego could take playing 4th or 5th fiddle in the current line-up.

Could someone from Onkas please get Goldsmith back. He's dominating here in Pt Lincoln for Mallee Park. Too good for the standard here. Not the calibre of player you want playing for the opposition.

Double Blues, Your question about not sending a SA country side to the National Champs was raised on KG & Cornsey last night. They were asking the exact same question. Leigh Whickers response was that they were disappointed that our side had been put into the Div 2 side of the carnival, so they pulled the pin. What do they expect when they dont send a side in 2002 to perth for the Championships for financial reasons, just to waltz back into div1?? Not good enough if you ask me, kick in the guts to all those that put their hand up for representative footy.
SA will be the only state not going. Even the Kiwi's are sending their best side!!!!!!!
