Anyone know what Simmo might be doing next year, still at the Creeks, or maybe at VH?

I think someone else may have brought this up so sorry if I have stolen your thunder.

It was brought up in a different section of this website O:)

Thanks for stealing my thunder! 1st episode is the best but next weeks looks good. After seeing a preview I dont thin I'll ever complain about a GSFL oval ever again. Have a look at this! The "Gravel Pit"

And if they are going to be coaching at another club, they would like some money for their efforts.

Fantastic point Damian. I know someone who loves their club but aspires to be an A grade coach and may have to move clubs to get his opportunity. :(

Who would that be Mr Teach? A current junior coach at that club? :D

coach of the year maybe?? what a joke - surely your side has to finish equal or higher than they did the previous yr, and with mclaren 17's being premiers last yr and now they are going to lose 2 compass this week, id hardly call that a successful year!! i'd think you would find most of those kids could coach themselves!!

I am not sure if you are aware but the 'coach of the year' is decided before the finals start. So the decision would have been based on last years finals results and the fact that the comp has been so even this year plus he also successfully coached the association side.

Footy is a Game for the Players and supporters so i think having Awards for Coaches and Umpires etc. is a load of Crap.

Jackpot Jim late night or early morning? Either sides this week ca'nt afford any injuries going into the Prelim if true about Richardson his pace and ball carry will be miss,i am sure the Creek will fill a full strength side(Timmy Rodgers seen at training) it's going to be a cracker,Strath for me by 11 points.

Alive and kicking was a great show, next week does look like terrible conditions, the birseye view of the ground looks like a trotting track!
Back on the points, if a player has played under 10 games in two seasons what would his value be?
Anyone going to make the trip to watch Porties V Cove on sat?

I am tinking about it Kappars, might get down for the senior colts at Mclaren then head to Porties, should be a big crowd and although the Cobras are undefeated, anything can happen when Porties play, especially on their home deck!

I personally would love to get there, after seeing Porties last week and having a few close mates at Cove i might but that all depends on the A game at Mclaren Vale.

Weather is gonna be windy according to Keith Martyn (if Kappars could give me a weather forecast i would appreciate it) which will bring the game closer together. The rivalry between the Roosters and the Hawks is intense and neither side will give an inch. A great day of footy ahead Saturday!

Sorry BJ I have been off my game a bit of late!! Here is the map, I would expect pretty standard conditions for both the GSFL and SFL this saturaday.

neverwas neverwillbe wrote:In regards to the player points system - each player will lose a point each year he plays at the club until he reaches the minimum of one.

If players such as Rolfe were to return to the Bays he would attract the 1 point plus an additional 3 as he has come from another division 1/2 league.

As for someone like Lootsy returning to McLaren, he would be 1 as he played junior football at that club but it could also be argued that he played his last game for Pongy or the Valley and could attract 3 extra points.

One of the main ideas of the points system was to stop GSFL clubs "poaching" from within their own league.

There are a lot of grey areas that can be argued with the league if a club feels they are being "ripped off" as to how many points a player may accumulate.

Are you sure about that? My interpretation of the rule was as long as you have played one whole season at the club you will always come back as a 1 point player?

My mistake - Round 17 BDOS defeated Cove 17-12-114 to 10-9-69
