They have to pay for their mansions somehow.

Mansions, ha, well put McQueen. What i;ve heard is that Walkies C grade has a few uni kids who worked saturday mornings, as well as a half dozen guys who are mechanics etc that need to make sure jobs get done.

But i agree, disappointing that all 3 games cant be played, but i guess that's the way the cookie crumbles some times.

Big Question is, who thinks FP can take out all 3?

I been watchin Para Hills all year and reckon mumbles is on the money here. Very eye-catching player # 7 (Valor Thach) Would probably head the list for Para Hills B&F and association medal votes I'd say, followed by Hanson, Jarvis and Page.

Judging from wat i've heard and not by wat i've seen, i can see Wilson taking the medal out.
He has been in the best players v Para Hills 2/2 and all he does is try to bust through tackles and look for the cheap goals.

That bloke wouldn't be you by any chance would it mate? Seen ya at the game the last couple of weeks...

And if Payney is offered the job at Sturt's 18s good on him, from the outside looking in it seems like he's got a lot of repsect from the A Grade out there, has turned that club around almost 180 degrees. Players can't hold anything against him trying to further his career, the same way the club wouldn't stand in the way of players training with league clubs.

Yeah that bloke may be myself or maybe even be a former ressies coach at salisbury that played most of his footy at eastern park. Either way i would thik the job would be payneys for a few years and i could not see him leaving. Pretty hard to turn your back on a side that you just got promoted.

So why didn't you come up and introduce yourself then pag? and is eddie still coaching out there next year? and have you convinced any of the boys who train there during the week to have a kick at salisbury next year (boys from ecounter bay)?

You seemed busy chasing a kid around mate...

And if Willo wanted the job he'd be excellent at it, can't speak highly enough of his time with us. I played under him for one game and the confidence he sticks into his blokes is amazing. From talking to him Saturday though, seems like he's pretty settled with the missus down south and seemed like he's enjoying Porties.

Club has to advertise constitionally mate, but Eddie is stilll very much in the mix for it. Who trained with us that played with Encounter Bay?

Interesting comment Pag, that advertising is in the constitution of the club. I've heard a few people say that they reckon it isnt a good thing for a club to advertise every year as you may not get the best people to apply becasue the club always advertises but alwyas reapplies the previous coach. And i've spoken to some old blokes who have been around footy a LONG time who see it as a bad thing to advertise every year.

Any thoughts

Personally i dont see it as a bad thing provided the current coach is aware of the rule, and that if the club's happy with him tell him that he doesnt have anythgin to worry about.

Tips for this weekend? A real rivalry between FP and EP has built up over the year..should be a cracker of a match. Flip a coin in the B's aswell, there's not much in it!

Let's hear some highs, lows or anything else interesting from 2008.

Highs: 1st half against EP in round 8. Had two important club people pass away and it was the best we played all year. Pity we couldn't build upon it. Great atmosphere around the club, lots of helpers lots of piss sunk.

Biggest Hanger: Broddy took heaps. Amazing leap for an old bloke and apparently before his knee recon it used to be bigger! No wonder he played league footy. I also took a hanger but the photo caught me on the way down.

Low: losing prelim obviously.

Expected boozehound to be taller, same with Pag.

Biggest upset: Us losing to Salisbury West!

Best Coach: I'm obviously biased but think Jackson, Payne and Ocker are all obviously coaches who could coach at a much higher level.

Tip for GF: FP 3 goals

I thought the love boys and a couple others were training out there once a week and then once down south. I know when i spoke to the coach of encounter bay thats what he wanted me to do with a few of the other boys. Maybe this never eventuated and i wouldn't know as i never ended up at encounter bay.

Ah ok. Well to answer your question the Love boys didn't train with us once this year, I ran into them a few weeks back and they were living in the Woodville area and training once a week out there somewhere...

Well the coach knows as they only ever get a one-year contract, because of the fact the club has to re-advertise at the end of the season. I don't mind the concept, if the club doesn't advertise they may not necessarily get all the interest the job should. With that being said though, at the end of last year we had to advertise and nobody was going to have the job this year except Eddie after winning a premiership.

But at the end of 06, we advertised and that year's coach wasn't re-appointed after just the season, because the club saw a more attractive option (Eddie). Gotta find the best guy for the job.

Tip for GF: FP 3 goals

Highs: ANZAC Day. Was a privilege to play with all the diggers from the Salisbury RSL at the ground. Beating Salisbury West is always good too.

Win over Old Iggies in Round 17 was also a high. Had the 'Gentlemans Night' that night too so made for a big evening.

Lows: Losing to Salisbury West in Round 12. Horrible kicking, and our worst game for the year, ended up costing us our spot in Div 3.

Losing to Kilburn in Round 7. Were 4 goals up at 1/2 time and in front still at 3/4 time but got rolled. Boys were shattered after that game.

Losing to Woody South in Round 18. had oru to chance to keep our spot with a win and fell away horribly in the last quarter.

Biggest Hanger: One doesn't really stick out in my mind.

Biggest Upset: Kilburn losing to Salisbury West. Not sure what happened there.

Best Coach: Probably Payne, with Ocker and Jackson very close behind. Looks like he turned the club around discipline-wise as well which would be a very hard ask.

Tip for GF: Flinders Park by a couple
