They can use the whole 'want to play lower grades' thing all they like, but they're not jumping to A2 or A3, A6 is only one level above where they are and they're obviously capable seeing they can make a GF.

Maybe if we win Div 4 next year we might ask the league to stay down because we only wanna play 'lower grades', what a load of s***t...

Also agree that if you are good enough to contest the ultimate prize that you should go up....Adelaide Uni have also won previously and exercised their right and remained in Div 7 as per the SAAFL rules but can only exercise the right to stay down once, if win following year must go up.

Have said it before that SAAFL need to run a seperate Div just for C & D Grade sides that all Div 1 and 2 clubs and maybe even Div 3 should have to participate in and fine them if fail to submit teams (fine us for everything else) and if this doesn't leave enough teams for Div 7 comp then unfortunately they should either be allocated to the closest Div 1 or 2 team in their area to be included in new Div or fold or be included in a expanded Div 6 comp.
Uni went up to Div 6 a couple of years ago didn't they? They were competitive for a year or two if I remember rightly?

Correct, but previously had won Div 7 and stayed down.

I see North Pines are advertising for an A & B grade coach for Div 7 next season. Looks like they want to comeback and form 2 teams again, good luck to them but I heard as early as a month ago they were still struggling to field 1 team in C2. Anyone know if this will actually eventuate?

Do you think Mitchell Park would consider moving back to the Southern League if a second division existed?
Where's Bill? Yeah... Hmm... Bill is on the Villa Quatro, on the road to Salina. I will draw you a map.

it be stupid for north pine not to advertise as a div 7 club. it alot more attractive then applying then a C2 coach and you have more chance of getin a coach who can bring players. You might get newman or some1 like that to come over. If worse comes to worse and the A grade coach quit if he coaching c2 you prob get the B grade coaching

Nth Pines entering would make an 11 team comp unless whispers are true about Smosh dropping their D's and only having a C grade in 09 which would bring it back to 10 teams.

I think it's all heresay at this time of year, there was heaps of stuffing around in Feb/March this year with teams unsure whether they'd be fielding one side or two. I'd imagine it would be pretty hard and probably not in the best interest for a club to want a coach and specifiy that he needs to be able to bring players to the club, especially if they are pretty much chasing a whole new team. They'll be back to square one in a couple of years.

More speculation...

Heard Browny has been approached by Wingfield to coach. They are looking to put two teams together again. Not sure if he'd be prepared to leave Rosewater though.
