i can imagine the phone calls to panther park tomorrow at about 12-30. Rupert should be out of hibernation by now and heading down the Himalaya's on the back of a yak , munching on Jeff's footlong hotdog, with Beryl giving a revival rub, heading for the nearest internet cafe to get the latest news. which way will it go???

Rupert is on his way back and looking forward to his prophecy becoming a reality. He has some frost bite but his spirits are good and he's looking forward to getting all the news on how the Ovingham Cats are now ready to eat their own. I told him that's been a gypsy trait for centuries, he seemed shocked but just can't wait. Couldn't believe that a club would appoint the coach as the President too, mentioned a conflict of interest but Newman's clan have never done anything conventional.

Beryll and Jeff stayed stayed in 'hotdog heaven" in Tibet,the word is she's pregnant with twin saveloys.

This forum is for opinions and mine is that since the club is in another Grand Final they must be doing something right.I'm still not too happy about a couple of things that have happened to the club that I love,but there's no point crying over spilt milk.Time to get behind the boys and wish them well for the coming week.The club is bigger than the individual and a lot of people have put in the hard work so good luck to them.Go get em Cats!!!!!!!!

Since bubbula has made this a public issue id like to have my say.As a current Ovingham player im disappointed at the way a couple of players have been treated.Claims of one player abusing his team mates are way over the top.I played in the first final against PHOS,and I think the guy had every right to get stuck into a couple of our defenders.And it wasnt as if he called them every name under the sun.He let them know that they werent doing their job,which is fair enough.Personally I cant believe our coach didnt send the runner out and drag 1 or 2 players before it got to that.And what happened before round 4 was a joke.1 of our players was stuffing around on the track and Barry told him to get his ******* act together.I cant see the problem with that.You play how you train and I think our training this year has been poor so we havent got the results that we should have.The player in question told the coach and made a big deal out of it,and barry was accussed of abusing his team mates.Part of the trouble at our club is that the coach is also the president,and he calls all the shots.I think he sometimes forgets that were in C2.He sets a lot of club rules which is fine,but the problem is that he punishes some players and not others.For example,hes said a few times that anyone whos not at training wont get a game that week,but they still get a game.And he said the other week that anyone who didnt come back to the club after the game wouldnt be selected the next week,but about 5 guys who never came back still played the next week.3 players who were chosen for last weeks game against Uni didnt deserve a spot but got picked but a guy like justin whos a good honest trier,and turns up week in week out doesnt get a game.And the worst thing is that our coach bags
the crap out of him behind his back.Ive been around long enough and played at enough decent clubs to know thats not right.Guys like justin are just as important to a footy club as the top players,but chris doesnt see it that way.And on top of that the team selected for this week has only 3 or 4 players from last years ovingham grand final team.The rest have left because chris wont pick them.Barry gives his all and if we had a few more like him we would be a lot better off.Locky was the other guy banned for 3 months.He has'nt had his best year but lives and breaths the Ovingham football club and its a shame hes been treated so poorly.We've got alot of good players at the club and i know for sure that some of them wont be back next year,including me.The club just hasnt got any class at all.I feel like i should stick up for barry and locky but if i did my season would be over so im doing it on here.Ive worked to hard to miss out on a possible grand final but i wanted people to know the real story.

I dont want to cause a storm in a tea-cup here being a team mate of yours but Chris selects his best side every week and for you to suggest that all the ovies players from last years GF would make the best team this year is fruitless. Have you taken into account how many 'premiership' players he brought back to the club. Just because you play in a GF one year doesnt always mean you'll be there the next..

Oh my goodness, I'm just going to have to forward this on to Rupert as a matter of urgency, he'll be claiming how good he has become and probably will change his name, maybe to "The Prophet of Doom"

Isn't it quite ironic how cream rises to the top but in this case the cream is sour, anyhow, another year, another club in tatters. what more can you say except for ' Rupert said it would happen,self destruct that is"!

im an ovingham footballer and we are far from self-destructing. we are about to play in a grand final and leading the club championship. so if thats self-destructing well wouldnt more clubs want to do it? and suavo i know who you are and we need to have a chat at training. UP YOU CATS!!!!!!!!!

Leading the club championship, now that's another stupid situation created by the SAAFL.

Clubs with 3,4,5,6 or more teams under the current format of that ridiculous setup has no hope, yet they do more for the league than a 1 team club could ever do. The whole thing is primarily based around 'wins' so the less teams, the more likely you have to earn points. What a crock of crap!!

Don't go hanging your hat on the winning of this, it's a pretty hollow victory

Bub, that's half the problem, blokes like you with attitudes like yours eventually will stuff up the small clubs, that's why you keep moving on year after year.

Please don't tell me you are taking this champion club thing seriously. The point of the thing is to reward clubs who perform well over all grades. The easiest way to do this is to divide the points by number of teams in a club. I'm sure if the Amateur League had realised this would happen they would have added another criteria such as the club needing to have at least two teams. Flinders Park having 3 teams in a GF is far more deserving than Ovingham.

When it comes down to it Bubs, CC is probably happier that GX are in the div 1 prelim than the C2 GF. He doesn't care because no-one else does, nor should they. It ranks up there with a Tuesday night mixed netball premiership(By the way, I know a few mixed netball teams that could beat Ovies at footy).
