\:D/ Guess What, Guess What, Guess what ???? \:D/

I have been 'speaking' with admin and they have said that if there is enough interest from you guys in the GSFL then we can have our own forum page.

So a set up like what SFL now have:

This means we could have a thread for photos, a thread for each club if we like.... etc, etc, etc... it's endless !!

Sooooooo....

What do people think??

Shall we go ahead and have our own forum page ??

O:)
You get what you give....

So you're saying it's just a pipe dream :(

Yes EP have almost 800 pages.... then yes they do really deserve their own forum O:)

EP SPORTS thread has always been for almost all sports not just football.
where as the later threads to come online here have just been for football
now that the cricket regionals have come online.

saafl and southern leagues do have a lot of members on this forum compared to other leagues.
even the hills at the moment have 2 different threads to cover their league.

as wedgie said he'll be looking into it in the near future :D

Geez, the Creeks must have been short for Ruck options that day.
Hey Limb, if you see Hilly around tell him he might have more chance of getting the tap if he gets Both feet off the Ground.
PS. Good Luck to Hilly and Limb on Sunday at Yank in the BIG 'B' Grade 1st Semi.

Well done to the two clubs who had league representation debutants this year, I don't think anyone has topped the Saints in producing a AFL star.

Well the Compass oval is to be inspected on Sunday arvo to see if its suitable for the GF. This may seem strange because it hasn't rained for 7 days but apparently 1/3 of the oval is extremely soft and unusable. The local school have been cancelling PE lessons because of the condition. With the weather how its been its quite clear that Compass have major drainage issues. It should be perfect at this time of year. GSFL even it it is in good nick its still on a slope, please "can it" and play on a flat ground. ie Victor, Goolwa, Bays

Very interesting Footy05. I would have thought the oval wouldve come back to pretty much perfect by now!!!

How do people like Encounter Bay Oval, its massive and always blowing a gale there, yeah the surface is good but the conditions it continually delivers are not good. Plenty of places better to play the GF. I believe the GF is on a roster system and i think that started in 03 or 04.
03 - Willunga
04 - Yankalilla
05 - Victor
06 - Encounter Bay
07 - Strathalbyn.
That therefore leaves Goolwa, Langhorne Creek, Mclaren, Compass and Pongy ovals in this 'rotation' system. Depending on who plays in the GFs over the next few years those 5 ovals will (according to the plan) will be the ovals used in the GFs. According to sources Goolwa oval is in pristine condition and will be perfect for football tomorrow, lets hope the weather plays its part also!

Spent the day at Goolwa oval today with the pitch curator. Conditions are not ideal but pretty good. Maybe a fraction firm. Personally, I'd bat first.

Shut the gate! Willunga now are an absolute certainty for the flag! Demolition of Creeks today even without the likes of Ryan. Creeks were woeful and on top of the performance looked to pick up injuries to T.Follet, Dellatore plus a couple of others. Like many others, I hate the Saints but I am now certain that the GF should be at Goolwa the surface wasn't at its best today but is still a cut above. (Sorry Richo, Steve!!)

Sam Elliot was rookie listed by the crows in 2006 i think.

Results from the weekend thus far -

Saturday @ Goolwa

A grade - Willunga easily
B grade - Strath easily
Seniors - Strath
Juniors - Mclaren

Sunday @ Yank

A grade - Strath up 8 goals to 1 during second quarter
B grade - Creeks were up by 4 goals during the second quarter, unsure of result
Seniors - Mclaren
Juniors - Saints by a point (second week in a row - LF, why did you not win coach of the year?)

Awesome job by the one point winners! Thats how every final should be, thrilling for the crowd and the winners, disappointment and heartbreak for the losers, harsh as the losers in that game were between 12 and 15 :( If only i could get an all up with local leagues on the Sportsbet, Willunga into Geelong into Melbourne Storm into ...... ......!!!!!!

Thanks footy05. Its great to hear that we are hated because the feeling is mutual. I like your take on the Goolwa Oval. Its a pity that the league officials whinged like bitches all weekend about it. The hierachy have stated that "there is no way" that the GF will be at Goolwa, should Compass not be suitable. It would be at Victor beacause Goolwa isn't good enough. I have heard nothing but positive feedback, especially from players, which is great beacause their vote counts in my book

My take on the weekend:
Willunga too good even with some missing players
Sledging is good until you get embarassed by Hams and the guys you sledge are behind the goals
Sledging doesn't carry much weight when you dont make the finals
Creeks big injury troubles?
Goolwa Oval is the best surface
McLaren's Juniors are on growth hormones
Working in the canteen is hard
No one really cares about the B's
Yankalilla need to mark the boundary lines and mow the grass before a final
The Senior Colts is fantastic to watch
Winning consecutive games by 1 point is not good for the heart
You can love football, but it wont always love you back!

Without knowing the facts there could be some racism issues to come out of todays B Grade match. Compass supporters getting stuck in to some McLarens players and from what I hear what was said is just not on. Can anyone shed some light? If the stories are correct Compass should be dragged over the coals.

Strath over Compass by about 10 goals.
Creeks over Mclaren in the 'B' s by about the same or more.
Mclaren over Creeks in the Sen Colts 15 - 8 to 14 - 1.
Bad luck but Well done the the Creek Sen. Colts after their Fantastic 2nd half of the season to finish equal top, only to go out in straight sets by 6 points and 13 points in 2 Teriffically fought finals. The senior colts GF will certainly be the Highlight of GF day as the other grades look forgone conclusions.

Yes well done to all the winners today and yesterday =D>

LF I really don't know how your heart is surviving these close games... 1 point margins two weeks in a row !! ... I saw the end of your game and it was a delight to see those kids of yours so excited and proud of themselves. Well done. O:)

The Senior colts game was so nerve wracking also !! ... Just when I'd think we (McLarens) were on a roll Creeks would come back with a couple of their own... our boys played really well and was good to see Kohnke bag so many goals again. Really good to watch.

I think you are right with what you hear came from the Mt Compass supporters LF, but I also think you'll find it was a few very immature people who thought they were funny, when actually they definitely werent, and you'll probably find that some of their own 'sincere' supporters would have been just as disgusted with the comments as everyone else [-X

Didn't stay for the A's.... must say I was somewhat tired from the two big days of football !!

LF I also heard nothing but positive comments re the Goolwa oval. :)

Anyway... well done again to the winners and see everyone next week at McLarens.

PS: Don't forget to post how you feel about having our own forum page or PM me... as admin says enough interest from regular posters and they will give us one, we certainly have enough 'traffic' to warrant one !! O:)
