Wasn't sacked Saint - advised club that wasn't going to reapply for season 2009. Will be heading closer to home to continue coaching & playing for family reasons more than anything. Looking foward to getting the broken hand fixed from last trial game early in year against Renmark. Had a bit to do with not being able to be out there on the deck most of the time this year. Getting better with age pal - still got 10 years left of quality football. May aswell defend myself seeming I jumped on here last night hammered and blew my cover. Thanks for the nice encouraging words though.

Best on Hill I'd have to agree about Tractor.. Not many Full Forwards in Country today that win Mail Medals like he has.

A player I have seen play this year in the country championships was Luke Button. Awesome player !! And I think he got Runner Up in Mail Medal in RMFL.

Another from Port Augusta Mark Fuller is a gun too...

Russell Sawford West Augusta , worth throwing his hat in the ring . He doesnt leap tall buildings but he will run straight through them.

Russell Love Mussell is probably up there in the past, but if you saw the man play lately, I really wouldn't be chucking his hat in the ring, best kept on the head.
I'm sure he would agree.
Never saw him at his peak but damn, what he's doing at his age today is testament of the player he was.

Best country player I would vote for Ryan Bennett for Renmark or Matt Manfield for Roopena.
Ryan's at the beginning of a big country career if he stays at home, but after making the All-Australian country team this year, he would get my vote.

Saf would go close, but he would probably agree that Bennett shades him in most area.
Pearson is up there with the State's best country water runners.

Matt Cooper from Hahndorf. Played in 2 League flags, played for South Australia, and has won 2 Mail medals i think. And unlike a couple of other players mentioned on this thread plays is one of the stronger country leagues going round. Still smashes it.

Agree that Ryan Bennett can play. How old is he? 21?
