Don't Blackfriars train there already?

I guess the main issue would be Ovingham feeling like they were losing their identity. What would the club be called, the dogcats? Blackovaries?

BF would need some incentive as may not be as old a club but certainly more vibrant fielding 2 sides and with some success over last couple of seasons.

Clubrooms, their own oval, is that a good incentive. I'm sure BF might have some money to put into the facilities down there too.

Wasn't the rumor that BFOS were moving to a oval near Aquatics centre?

Could Blackfriars and Ovingham share the oval? Since Blacks don't have a C grade and Ovingham only have one side, couldn't they just alternate weeks using the ground?

All this talk about team rules and discipline almost makes me think we are talking about an AFL club.Even heard about a few 3 month bans being handed out.One thing I cant understand though. If the club was fair dinkum,Why do they still have a certain red headed young player at the club who was banned for life by the previous committee for stealing from players bags?Sounds like a 3 month ban to me......

I dont think it matters what grade is played on there in regards to people not liking the size of the ground.. We are hot cold on it still.

Just dont leave your wallet in your bag when he's around.Seems a shame though that a bloke gets dumped coz he may have gone about things the wrong way,but a theif is fine coz he lived with the coach for a while.Double standards perhaps?

fairs fair people like that dont need to be at the club but I would say this is the first any of us are awhere of this. I dont think these 2 are comparable. 1 is a crime and one is plain ill-discipline. Both punishable by whatever may be.

You may not know about it but I believe it has been made mention of.But I don't expect anyone to take my word for it.

Watch what happens to Ovingham once this season is over. Have heard bad things about what happened at Gepps. What will happen to that club when the gypsies disappear? How will they get enough players to fill a team?

Im a Long Time Reader First Time Poster

Big Shrek! What did you hear happened at Gepps?? Wonder if its the same story that I have heard as I have heard many variations this one is the most common:

I have heard that one of players was selected on the Thursday training, was named on the bench after being in best players the prior week. Was frustrated and made a comment to himself that was overheard and then told to the coach.

The player had a phone call at 8.30am Saturday morning of the Henley game and was told no longer requried to play for the club as they are just too much of a handful and that no coaching staff or players wanted this player at the club anymore.

Can anyone confirm this story?

If this is the case my opinion is that its pretty sad a club person is asked to leave over something like that why not get dropped to the B grade to start with and have a speaking to then if things dont improve ask to leave. I cant see how anything bad was done in this instance.

Club people are hard to come by I think an issue like this could have been resolved in a much better way

Thoughts??
